Everybody knows that Hatton was not the best fighter at 140. He was just the most popular. After Mayweather took his heart he didn't fight anyone that was a threat at 140. Castillo doesn't count he was old and not a real jr. welter. He was almost KOed in his comeback fight in Manchester. A guy who walks into punches and doesn't know what to do with a southpaw is hand picked. Not saying he was no kind of threat but just a matter of time before that chin was checked. Know what I mean!

This thread isn't to glorify Pacman, it's a feeble attempt to glorify Gatti, an attempt that fails because Gatti would be destroyed in this fight. This isn't the way to pay tribute to an exciting warrior.

This thread should be locked. Gatti was one of the most exciting fighter but come on he was not close to an elite level. He was a journeyman that when face the best, he get his ass beat badly. The better thread would be Prime Gatti vs David Diaz at a catchweight.

Gatti just died. I prefer not having him in all these mythical matchups with better fighters where he'd probably take another ass-kicking.

The guy is dead, there's no reason to start obvious threads where everyone would pick against him. Let the man rest in peace.

You know everyone will pick against him in this one, if you don't then you're an idiot.

Next thread: Gatti v. Tyson, with a 'rest in peace, champ' thrown in.

Pac smashes Arturo of course. Also, Gatti fights his heart out to the very bitter end. Of course.

Now THAT'S a fight. One that I would give Gatti a better than 50/50 chance to win.

Gatti was better than a clubfighter. You had to be a really good fighter to beat him. Sometimes that clubfighter term gets thrown around a little too much, Ward, Augustus, Gatti... they would all smash a real clubfighter. Gatti was a champ. He wasn't an ATG or elite level champ, but he was far from a clubfighter.

I would say that guys like Gatti, Manfredo, Ward etc would be better termed as high level gatekeeper type fighters. If you lack serious talent, dedication to train or heart, your road is gonna end right there with one of these guys. If you have a weakness, they're gonna find it and make you pay for it.

I loved watching Gatti fight, win or lose.

The decision (win, lose or draw) is just gravy when talking about Gatti fights.

The fight itself and his fighting spirit is what I will remember more than the result itself.
