    Prime Foreman 1970 - '74 version.
Boxers with decent power, good durability and stamina, hand speed and the ability to fight on the back foot and counter punch, stay cool and strike with precision. Tough, strong, slippery, cagey guys - there aren't many.
    ..... and Sonny Liston.

Ali .... Holmes perhaps, Walcott maybe. Tunney possibly.
    Joe Louis.
Dempsey and Holyfield could stand a great chance, if they don't get too heroic. In other words, they'd have to stay on their bicycles and circle, in and out. I wouldn't count on it.

I don't know about Jack Johnson. He liked to wrestle and block with his hands. Foreman would be the ultimate test of his strength, toughness and defensive wisdom. It would be interesting.

Patterson, Marciano, Frazier and Tyson would likely get blown away early.

Ali, Liston, and Lewis are the best bets.

I'd favor Louis as well. Tyson by a hair.

Other than that I don't know, Holmes-Foreman is pretty close to even and I'd probably favor Foreman against the rest.

On paper probably not that many, but given the fact that Lyle nearly finished him and Young outboxed him, probably a lot more fighters than would be apparent at first.

Truth is, I was sceptical until I studied the footage, but Foreman '76 - '77 was inferior to before Ali beat him.
Too hesistant, he lacks the momentum he had earlier, plus he's thinking too much about his "new improved" stance and punching. He's being too deliberate, not natural.
The 2nd Frazier fight is his best post-Ali 70s performance.

  8. just joe louis in the rematch, he would get ko in the first match 100%, lennox lewis would get ko too in the first match, he would have chance in the rematch by decision, liston in his prime would be hard for any man in the planet but styles make fights, foreman wins by knock out. dempsey would be raped, tunney would be winning on the cards but foreman would catch him in some point.joe walcott had the style but he did not have the chin to take the shots from foreman, he would get destroyed, jonhson did not have the style to avoid foreman early. evander was very brave it was a big fault against a prime foreman, george would tko evander.i would put my money just on ali and larry holmes.

    Only Ali.

Foreman would KO Holmes with ease, he would kill Tyson in 2-3 brutal rounds, Liston would be another quick KO win for Foreman, and glass chinned Lewis would put up a great fight but would get caught eventually and his chin would shatter. Louis might have a chance if he were bigger but he was not so again a KO win for Foreman.

The bottom line is Ali is the greatest for one reason, he beat Foreman.

potentially, a lot of heavyweights do. he wasn't that large or a major one-punch type of power merchant. he was a lumbering bully who could be outsmarted, outcrafted and dismantled. a past-it ali proved this, a b-level fighter in young proved this, and a glorified amateur in lyle proved this.

that said, he had the composite goods to give anyone a hell of a fight in return.

I agree with this post(though I rate Lyle higher than Seamus).

I would take Liston, Holmes, Lennox, Louis and several others over Foreman.

Prime Foreman of 1973-1974 only looses to Ali 1964-1974.

BUT Lenny Lewis would have a good chance to win, cos he a big bad monster too. :bbb
