Louis had a weak chin. He was dropped by Galento, KOed by Schmeling, and hurt by LHW Conn.

Louis only chance is to blizz Foreman early. I doubt it happens. Louis is overrated H2H anyway (at >200 HW).

What about the fact that Foreman is bigger and stronger than Louis?

Just makes you a bigger target, unless you have some sort of stylistic answer!

There is a reason why he broke all records on title defenses!

Foreman was KOd by Ali, and dropped by Young, and he had a mere fraction of the fights against ranked opposition, that Louis had!

Your chin drops off fairly rapidly, when you regularly fight people ranked in the top then!

Foreman was KOed by Ali because of exhaustion.

Whaaaaaaaaaat? The longer it goes the better it is for Louis. Louis didn't have stamina issues and carried his power and energy late.

If I were managing Louis and had to cherry pick an ATG to put on Louis resume, I would rejoice over George Foreman. Now if the manager of young Mike Tyson or Larry Holmes came to my house to discuss a possible match up, I'd turn off all the lights and pretend no one's home.

Big men who were easy to hit and even easier to counter were Louis bread and butter. Remember, Foreman wouldn't be the only ATG puncher in the ring that night.

If it be explosive counter punching ye be seeking, look no further than a Louis vs Foreman fight.

I think Louis would handle Foreman as he did Max Baer. The template would be the same. Louis MAY take a knockdown if he gets too lax.

Foreman best chance is to blitz Louis early. The only problem with that is he'd leave himself open to be countered by a master counter puncher.

People say Shavers hit harder than Foreman. Would you pick Shavers to beat Louis?

He may have been briefly hurt by Conn, but in the prior fight he took punches from hard hitting super heavy Buddy Baer. I think Louis trying to make weight and draining down too much played a part

true !! Good post....the young foreman delivered his punches like a novice....ali, young, lyle, made him pay for it ...so would louis...young foreman also had no defense and gassed out...older foreman might give a better fight

I'll settle this and remember: never believe anything or any claim you see coming from John Thomas

with that out of the way, Foreman is quite under rated as a boxer. Very effective I might add, wasting little movement, his defense of parrying punches thwarting and stymying joe's offensive arsenal

from the films I can see that Foreman is a very heavy puncher and can end fights with relatively few blows

Like Frazier says "he sure do punch good"

A right hook and right uppercut catch Joe's head, and he is never to clear the cogwebs (ala Schmeling 1),, the finish just mere moments away

This isnt the ONLY Joe he blows out

When asked if he could beat Joe Louis, Foreman said no and "Louis beats US ALL" .Us all includes Ali, Tyson, Lewis, Holyfield, AJ, K2 brothers, Wilder, Holmes. You know, US ALL!
