Prime George Foreman vs Prime Riddick Bowe

He is MUCH better then 70s Foreman.

 

On what exactly? He's not more powerful, he has weaker defense, his is untested, he doesn't have Foreman'a jab or punching variety.

 

Show me that George has a better defence. Punch Variety? In what way was Bowe limited with his punches/
70s Foreman used his jab to great effect on who in the 70s?

 

I mean, Foreman didn't eat hundreds of punches from anyone worth mentioning. For all his flaws, he usually did a better job at not being hit, which is what matters in boxing.

I didn't say that Bowe was limited, but it's a fact that Foreman had superior jab, straight right, uppercut and left hook. What's the punch that Bowe has advantage on?

On anyone until Ali fight. He was a mess after a comeback, but his jab worked really well against faced opponents. Chuvalo fight is a good example.

 

As an overall boxer yes, Bowe was exactly that. But his weakness was one that was perfect for George: he took way too many unnecessary shots, for pretty much his whole career.

Foreman only needed two or three shots to completely devastate someone.

That said, Bowe would be no joke against Foreman, good fight.

Fundamentally better in every sense of the world- I never saw Bowe throw a punch from 5 inches behind his torso FFS- You don't because you can't captain "High leverages"

What do you mean not 70s Foreman?

Foreman threw swimming punches with his head down , he punched himself off balance , he punched with the inside of his glove , he didn't know how to deal with Ali's clinching and he fought as if he had a low level Ring IQ.

Bowe would not have made any of those errors against Ali. Bowe fights upright and doesn't hunch down and sends long straight shots behind a jab. He measured the distance a lot better than 70s Foreman and wouldn't blow his wad missing so many punches.

Bowe > better skilled boxer than > 70s Foreman

 

I like both guys alot but to be honest not many are beating prime George not many at all.

 

Sorry but I'm not going to discuss with someone who is dishonest and tries to manipulate facts to his advantage.

 

bowe is to good at fighting close range and able to switch to outboxing if he needs to he beats slow George

 

it's odd even though George is outmatched in skill he is picked to beat somebody like bowe and lennox the best outboxer ever

 

Mike was to great at defense and angle of shots and timing no way he loses to slow easy to read George anybody can see this
