Prime George Foreman vs Zhang

Valuev is such an outlier that he's sometimes hard to match up accurately. I can certainly see Foreman gas out trying to get Valuev out of there and then getting stopped. On the other hand if GF boxes with some degree of sense he ought to be smart and fast enough to outbox Valuev. Maybe I'm asking too much idk.

 

Imagining Zhang featuring in The Ring Fight of the Year is an even bigger laugh.

These HWs, Zhang, Dubois, even Wilder and even Fury and whoever else, are bad, I rarely say this about any fighter but these guys being talked as something else in the classic forum is sign of times where boxing is really in bad shape as far as its pool of talent out there, the pool of talent is very small these days.

 

How tested Zhang's chin really was; or Hrgović was the biggest test?

 

He’s shared a ring with Cammarelle, Dychko, Parker, Hrgovic, Joyce, and Wilder.

If this poll was young Foreman against old Foreman, this wouldn't be so contentious to so many of you.
But because it's Zhang, the old guy automatically wins.
Zhang has fast hands, hard angles for Foreman, strong hands, and a strong chin, but simply because he's the new guy, he'd get plastered.
This fight would be much closer than you may think.

Great fight. Zhang might be the better technical boxer and is certainly capable of timing George when he rushes in given his accuracy, but Foreman isn’t Wilder either. He’s a better boxer than Wilder in every way, and will open up much more than he did.

I’d still lean more towards Zhang, I think he can probably take George’s bombs more than George can take his.
