I think it was a slip but in fairness to Young … who I really don’t think a lot of … he was legitimately popping George before that in the last round. Foreman was absolutely tired but he was getting popped. I just rewatched the last round to confirm what I remember.

I voted Zhang stoppage just to make the point that this is a real possibility. I think Zhang likes fighting guys that come to him that he can time with his thunderous punches. If he had a gas tank bigger than a bic lighter Foreman would be in real trouble.

Let’s not forget that Joyce ripped Dubois and Parker to shreds and put in late rounds against the latter at a pace Foreman failed to demonstrate in his career.

There was a hint of humour in my post Pat. Perhaps too subtle. :D

Man, I thought Zhang would be able to have a good slugfest with Foreman, could go either way in my book (Probably would still bet on Foreman, lol), but damn are some of these people insane.

I gotta be honest. I didn’t even know that Foreman and Zhang could even play the piano.

I’d prefer to see them go H2H devouring a 10 course Chinese banquet each.

As to using chopsticks or western cutlery, their choice. If they want to go full Mongo, bare hands should also be allowed.

Not to downplay your humor but that particular one was about as subtle as two Shinkansen bullet trains having a full speed head on collision at ones front door

If Foreman got his tactics right I think he could take a decision, but if he fought like he usually did in the 70s then I think Zhang takes him out.

Zhang doesn't have great stamina but neither does Foreman. He doesn't have great defense but again, neither does Foreman. He's 3 inches taller and around 70lbs heavier. He's a southpaw with a solid chin and an explosive counterpuncher going up against Foreman who often telegraphed his shots and swung wide. Foreman in his youth had a good chin but it wasn't granite like it was in his comeback, he could be knocked down and out. Foreman can't just go at Zhang like he did for most guys, it wouldn't end well.

Pat also has Canelo beating Rocky, said if he were James Smith's coach he'd have him abandon defense and just slug with Foreman, and he also said when Jarrel Miller was on PEDS, he expected him to beat Fury, Wilder, and Usyk.

He is almost guaranteed to pick the more recent fighter in virtually every discussion, and his logic is bizarre.

More or less along the lines I am thinking. I think people really underestimate what a 70lb weight advantage means. I remember seeing Tyson saying Foreman would hit harder than him because of all the extra weight he carried. If we take a heavy version of Foreman, we're talking like a 20lb weight advantage. Foreman is kinda a small heavy for nowadays whereas back in the day he enjoyed a size and weight advantage over his peers. If you notice most dominant great fighters (Louis, Ali, Wlad etc) are on the maximum side of the weights for their eras. That goes for Foreman too.

Foreman was only an infamous mugger in one of the worst neighborhoods in America and signed contracts to fight sissies and complete nobodies like Ali, Frazier, Lyle, etc. I'm sure a 40 year old fat guy with a thin resume would have him quaking in his boots.
