Prime George Groves vs Canelo Alvarez @ 168

GG too big and strong. Key word is prime, though. And Clenelo doesn't do prime.

 

I'd put my money on Canelo. I liked Groves but I don't know what he brings to the table that troubles canelo. Groves might be a longer fighter but no way do I believe he's the stronger man of the two

You have to really stack this poll to say "Prime" GG to give Groves a chance. Obviously non Prime Groves would get KTFO but the best version of Groves ever vs normal regular every day Canelo? Canelo already beat one GG, you put in him there with the other GG it ain't gonna be pretty.

 

Groves always strike me as a bit fragile. He gets hit and he starts folding.

 

I don't reckon George would have the chin or the gas tank to win this. Be a terrific fight though.

No but he lands more often that Froch.

 

Canelo would be too much for saint groves.

 

Canelo is simply the better fighter. While Groves early on might have some success using his size and speed, but eventually Canelo warms to the task, gets his timing down and counters Groves until he forces a stoppage.

Canelo Alvarez has beaten a star struck Rocky Fielding. He's faced no one like Groves style wise.. ask anyone with an ounce of sense around the London gym scene how talented Groves was.. long levers, slick, loose, powerful SMW.. similar to David Haye style wise.. awkward fighter, ask Froch.. I've seen Canelo struggle with slick fighters time and again.. Groves jab would be all up in that red chilli powder.. Groves just had conditioning issues sometimes but if he's switched on & in form he gets robbed versus the beef jerky ed Sheehan guy
