Prime Gerry Cooney vs Prime Andrew Golota

The Cooney that fought Holmes was too big, powerful, and strong for Golota, I think once Andy went a few rounds and figured out he couldn't win, he would start slamming Cooney in his junk and get disqualified.
I think Tommy Morrison, (prime) would be a harder fight for Cooney, he's a lot smaller than Cooney, but he's tougher than Golota, and quicker, and a stronger mental fortitude

 

I gotta go with Cooney in this one. I feel Golota is the more skilled fighter but his mental lapses and shaky performances make him hard to bet on especially against a devastating puncher. I see Cooney getting too him sometime early on taking him out between the 1st and the 5th I'd expect Golota to be getting the better of the fight until being hurt though.

 

Once Golota tasted Cooney's power Golota would be looking for a way out. Cooney by tko in 3.

 

Golota without question much better boxer Cooney was very stiff

 

Cooney by stoppage. Golota would freeze up under Cooney's power.

 

Brewster had a good left hook and Golota basically had a panic attack once it detonated on him.

Cooney had an awesome left hook and I shudder to think what Golota would do once he tasted it.

Cooney wins this quickly.
