Briscoe actually beat a couple of decent boxers after he lost to Hagler- Mann and Sabater Kasim on the other hand beat what decent boxer after his loss?
Again name 5 pre title opponents that you consider very good or soild that GGG fought.

Canelo is no even in the same league as a Duran in ANY SENSE and to think he is even close to a boxer of Duran is just foolish.

Briscoe beat Mann and Sabater after Hagler, sure—but neither of those guys were elite. Beating them doesn’t change the fact that he was past his best when he fought Hagler. Meanwhile, Ouma and Proksa weren’t all-time greats, but they were solid in the era Golovkin fought them, and unlike Hagler with Briscoe, Golovkin dominated them with zero resistance.

Also, I don’t know why you keep circling back to the “pre-title opponents” thing—it’s tedious and just cherry-picking points in their careers to fit your argument. Of course a fighter who had 50 fights before winning the title is going to have a deeper résumé than someone who had 19. That’s just common sense. If Golovkin had spent another 30 fights at contender level, he obviously would’ve racked up more names. The difference is that while Hagler struggled with certain guys before winning the title, Golovkin wrecked everyone in front of him.

I think Canelo would have been competitive with Duran at 160 and might have beaten him.

Because Hagler fought the very best fighters on his way to the title as opposed to GGG who did not and yet you overlook the fact.
The fact that Proska was a "world class" middleweight tells you all you need to know about the state of the division.
You talk about "cleaning out the division" Hagler had to do that on his way to even getting a title shot while GGG had a much easier path.
You simply cannot name 5 opponents of ANY significance on GGGs way to the title because THERE ARE NOT ANY and that KS why you keep crying about "moving the goal posts".

And how about welterweight? Who is the better overall boxer Duran or GGG?

Welter is another story. Duran is the greater boxer.

Exactly. Duran is far greater overall. Duran had just crushed Cuevas and Moore the only logical big fight at the time was vs Hagler because back then in order to make really big money the best had to face off.
Hagler who was begging for a big fight accepted the challenge which he should have done because fans wanted it.
Now I'm not going to act like this was Durans most effective weight because it clearly was not but he was no slouch either as shown when he beat Iran years latter.
To attempt to compare Haglers win vs Duran against GGGs win vs Kasim is ridiculous as they were two completely different levels of boxers and one was completely shot and one while past his peak still retained enough skill that most boxers only dream of possessing.
The same applies to the Briscoe vs Proska comparison - two completely different caliber of boxers and while one was not at his peak when he met Hagler he still was a level above Proska and very easily.

I haven't responded to the thread yet, but i will respond to you saying Golovkin didn't close the show vs Canelo. Golovkin in my opinion won rounds 3-11, then lost the 12th while fighting hard tell the very last second, in fight #1. He spent 3/4 of the fight closing the show. Golovkin also won down the stretch in the 2nd fight as well, even in the trilogy fight he won at least 3 of the last 4 rounds, if not all 4 rounds.
As for the Jacobs fight Jacobs fought the best fight of his career and came up short. It was a great, close fight, but GGG got off to a nice lead, which included the knockdown, then they fought about even before GGG had him going again, had him wobbled in round 8 or 9, then again they fought the rest of the fight tooth and nail. GGG retained his lead to get the win. Thats the way i saw it.

Yep, ask those Champions and contenders that GGG destroyed if GGG was a myth, they will surely tell you otherwise.

Leonard came in at 160 and Hearns came in at just over 162 lbs. The catch weight was at 164lbs.
