I do not think that Golota was in his prime when he first faced up to Bowe. Must have been more of a pre-prime. If both fighters are in their prime, how does this fight play out in your head? I will choose Golota by a TKO in round number 8.
wtf? golota wasn't in his prime? when was his prime then? when he fought lewis? important fights with golota either end by dq or him getting ktfo.
The true potential of Bowe was displayed on his title-winning fight against Holy. That guy was in tip-top shape, and was a force to be reckoned with especially the combination of his size, power, and infighting ability. Golota was a talented guy, but his mental make-up always seems to raise questions whenever he faces someone who has the proper equipment to beat him. Case in point, Grant and Tyson. A prime and properly conditioned Bowe will smash Golota to pieces in about three rounds, or if maybe he'll quit even before that.
Cmon guys are you kidding. A prime Bowe would have destroyed Golota. The Bowe that fought Golota was a weight drained uninspired fighter
saying a "prime" bowe destroys golota, is like saying a "prime" tyson destroys buster. it doesn't make sense. both bowe and tyson (esp tyson) weren't shot or out of their prime in their respective "losses", but especially with Tyson, they weren't at their best. Tyson of a couple of years earlier would beat buster imo and i'd favor bowe vs golota but with that said i think both buster and golota showed that they would put up a tough fight even if their opponent were at their best. Also, Golota probably wouldn't be overwhelmed like he was against brewster because i don't think bowe has that type of firepower
Bowe is one of the most OVERRATED HW's ever. Aside from beating the much smaller Holyfield what did he do in his career that was so special?
I think we pretty much saw the equivalent. Bowe was on the slide, Golota was a little green in terms of big fights. Either way, it looked like a classic case of "styles make fights". Golota would always cause Bowe problems IMO.
