forget Ward. GGG has never moved up period. Btw, You have an unhealthy adoration of GGG. Good for you homie.
he should more then consider it. He should jump at it. the thread is silly as GGG never moved up in his prime. He has his reasons I’m sure they’re good.
He beats them all without the aid of PEDs, a stacked deck or judges in his pocket, or needing to weaken them at the negotiating table with catchweights, rehydration clause or short camps. Big G sparked a way better prime Krusher Kovalev in the gym with headgear and pillows on, whereas, conversely, a shot still concussed drunkard Kovalev with an injured hand was able to administer a boxing lesson to Clen and was only a few rounds away from victory on the vast majority of fan's cards prior to his vodka tank ever so predictably running dry and getting clipped with a Clenbuterol bomb when was running on fumes.
What is prime GGG, the guy from the Jacobs fight? I honestly think that version of Saunders beats GGG by UD, as well as Callum Smith. He knocks out Plant in the late rounds due to Plants inexperience and loses a wide UD to Bivol. Kovalev at 175 is interesting, either Kova wins by UD or GGG by knockout.
Except I don't or haven't made crazy statements on his greatness. Never said he's the best MW ever or that he beats all these ATG MW's. So, again, nice try. Basically you'll say that to any 3G fan when you run out of ammo. You, on the other hand, are one of those noobs think boxers move up to challenge themselves for greatness.
I was a huge fan of Andre’s, who also believes that Andre would have beaten him at SMW. But I’ve just never believed that the fight was ever viable. As Lance has noted, GG was lined up to fight Lemieux for a second MW title, whilst targeting a huge fight with Canelo afterwards for the WBC belt. It would have been silly for him to have even thought about fighting Andre at that point. The other important thing to consider, is that Andre had said previously that he didn’t know if he could comfortably make SMW anymore, and that he’d have needed a tune up after being inactive for so long. So that fight was never viable at the time. The only way it could have happened, was if GG had fought Canelo straight afterwards and beaten him, whilst Andre had fought a tune up, before then meeting each other shortly afterwards. Their circumstances were completely different. At the time, GG had no idea that Oscar was going to give them the run around and stall a fight with Canelo for as long as possible.
right, I’m not an SoG fan either, his fight style puts me to sleep. Im not saying GGG should have taken the fight. (Although In retrospect he probably should have as you stated he was stalled out.) GGG maneuvered around Ward the way Canelo maneuvered around GGG initially as he was simply not ready to fight that version of SoG. “The time wasn’t right” what I’m saying is & this is factual: It is pointless to discuss a hypothetical of how well a prime GGG would have faired against Canelo’s opponents from 168lbs-175lbs Because Prime GGG never moved up in weight & still might not as he is yet to sign the Canelo vs GGG 3 rematch for undisputed at 168lbs
Seems a bit odd to pick the Ishida or Wade fight. Surely his prime must be from a fight against a top 10 opponent? Im guessing that would be the thinking. I would think Geale would be more appropriate, I guess. Not many get better once they hit mid-late-30's.
