GGG solidly in this one. Jermall seems to have a solid chin, but he tends to get hit flush a little too much, which is an obvious problem, especially in this one. Either a comfortable decision for GGG, or more likely a late stoppage. Trying to think where Jermall Charlo would rank among GGG opponents. I think he'd be way up there, maybe as high as #2 or #3. Canelo is really the only one who would obviously rank higher IMO.
I'll die on the hill that Jermall between 2016-2020 would've beaten both Golovkin and Canelo. Jermall was actually by far the better twin, even though he didn't achieve anywhere near as much as Jermell. If they fought today though, even though Golovkin is retired and Jermall is back "active" nah, I actually think Golovkin wins....................Big twin has some serious emotional issues, I think he let his potential completely pass him by
Never really was that high on Jermall, that said he would be better than most of the guys Golovkin beat during his 160 lb run. I think a best case scenario for Charlo is pulling a Jacobs type of performance behind a jab and smart boxing. I think Golovkin stops him
Jermall is an interesting fighter. He struggles sometimes with fighters you would expect him to beat more decisively, like Korobov, but then beat Derevyanchenko more clearly, who is better than Korobov. He always struck me as big and strong, and a pretty good puncher and i never saw him rocked, so he has a solid chin too. Derevyanchenko is by far his biggest win and that win carries alot of weight. I think the Jacobs that fought GGG was big, strong, and slick enough to defeat Charlo in a tough bout, outside of PBC corruption of coarse. So i would say that GGG would win by unanimous decision, maybe anywhere from 7-5, to 9-3 in rounds. A stoppage would be a bonus. It depends on how well Charlo takes GGG's shots though. I think that Mall would be GGG'S 3rd best win with Canelo being #1, Jacobs being #2. I think that Mall has a good chance at defeating GGGs previous victims, but thats not a given, and he wouldn't stop them all or beat them nearly as convincingly as GGG did. I believe outside of Derevyanchenko, that GGG would stop all of Malls previous apponents though. If what GGG did to his apponents was so easy, everybody would be doing it. I think Mall would have a hell of a time with the rampaging Murata that GGG fought.
Something tells me he already does wish that. But I think Prime Gennady KO’s Charlo so hard that he would forget to fight his natural urges and be in high heels and lipstick the next day in his “Thank’s for your support” post fight Twitter fan video.
You would think GGG, but he didn't want the smoke with Jermall when he was supposedly all about the belts and Charlo had one. I'd guess he'd mop the floor with him tho.
