The point is Foreman doesnt have an elite defense or a particularly good 1, hes a great puncher Lewis but if he gets beat to the punch that might not be a factor If Foreman's defense is wide open and Lennox bum rushes him theres a possibility of Foreman being KO'd, he certainly has more power than Lyle
Lewis stops him in the late rounds or more likley the ref stops it when Lewis is tagging him cleanly and opening him up. I'm So Proud of it I Put My Name on It
Hes got an elite offense which would keep Lewis from approaching the fight like he did against the likes of Grant and Golota.
Foreman got knocked down by Lyle and Lewis got knocked out by Rahman and McCall. Being ranked in the top 10 means nothing, Ray Austin was ranked in the top 10. Tye Fields was in the top 10 for crying out loud. Foreman fought solid guys in his prime and past his prime. Either way Lewis gets knocked out.
Lewis was more technologically sound but Foreman would look to mix, a careful Lennox should be able to take Foreman into the 6-7th rd boxing....Lennox never stopped anyone past the 8th but George in his prime would be gasping for air by 8.....I favor Lennox but George can hit that spot that McCall and Rachman did and its a wrap Hard fight to bet on
Agreed - The only Lewis that can win is an ultra cautious points win. I dont think anyone can beat Foreman by rushing out to trade with him. Ofcourse George could catch Lennox , but thats nothing to do with his chin - If George properly catches you it's immaterial what you chin is made of.........
well i give Lewis a chance if this is after the Ali-lForeman fight.. As Ali kind of laid a blue print ..... Lewis would really have to fight a passive fight and not engage Foreman.. Im not saying Lewis cant hurt George, im just saying that if he takes a gamble with a Young Bombs away George he gets caught.... Like the one who went to war with Briggs,Mercer, Bruno or got kod by Rahman,Mccall. There is no doubt that version gets kod.... He tries to bumb rush him like he did Golota ,RUddock and George is decapatating him..... Big George kos him early.
Young 70's Foreman never seen a boxer as big strong skilled and amazingly amazing as lennox lewis [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X7L2io5-Fjs[/ame] 0:28 Lewis take a massive punch, then dodge and weave to avoid the next 4. Smile and destroys Brigg's face Foreman was never in Lewis's class George Foreman Quote 'LENNOX LEWIS IS THE BEST HEAVY WEIGHT OF ALL TIMES' 'EVEN IN MY PRIME IN THE 70'S I WILL NEVER WANT TO FIGHT LENNOX LEWIS' Great intelligent quotes from a very intelligent man
Lennox Lewis had the better defense. He fights tall and wont crouch and be there for Big George`s uppercuts. Lewis would find Foreman`s defense pretty easy to penetrate. George Foreman is going to be getting hit alot here and one thing you dont want is Lennox Lewis hitting you. No matter who you are.
Foreman in his prime was a wrecking machine, he literally walked through guys. This is a guy who took Frazier left hooks flush in the face and didnt even flinch. I cant really say who wins as LL is one of the most smartest fighters ever. However if he was very very careful against an old shot Tyson, what makes you think hes going to risk anything against the larger younger Foreman? Foreman cut off the ring very well, which is why Ali had to resort to the ropes, there was no other way Ali could have tamed Foreman.
Lewis has the head movement, foot movement, intelligence and boxing skills to avoid Foreman for the whole fight if he stayed focused enough. Also worth noting that Lewis may be able to hurt Foreman with his straight right, maybe even KO him. On the other hand Foreman may only need to land once. Lewis has a solid chin, but it's by no means an iron one, which IMO is the sort of chin you need to beat Foreman. He also has a pretty damn good chin. If Lewis stays 100% focused on the job at hand, mainly spoiling and avoiding Foreman all night then he can box Foreman to a decisive UD, however if he loses his focus for just a second he could get KOed. I'll take Lewis by UD but I'm only about 60% sure. The other 40% of me says Foreman takes him out in an entertaining 5 rounder.
