Good post, everyone loves to mention this pre/post Ingle **** liek they know what theyre talking about...You made a good point that if anyone was past it in that fight..it was Kelly, the lovable guy from Flushing.. This guy comes to MSG, mecca of boxing..making a grand entrance like he was King Tut, disrespected Kelley to the Max and got knocked down multiple times...After this his hype pretty much took a beating, he wasnt back page material anymore...thats because every boxing insider knew it was just a matter of time before he gets exposed
this is stupid hamed and pac are in a different level pac is a great fighter future atg/hof hamed is just another puncher pac by ko brutal
Pac takes this one by UD. No offence to Hamed-haters, but the guy did not have a dodgy chin; he just got caught off-balance a lot due to his style. However, Hamed would have fits with Pac's swarming style. Tight but clear decision to Pac. Hamed would land some bombs, but Pac would outwork him down the stretch.
On paper, this is a 50/50 fight. Not that the fighters are equal, but Manny even now has a tendency to lunge and leave his chin exposed, and for that reason it's easy to see how Hamed catches him and takes him out. Having said that, I'd favor Manny 65/35 based on the intangibles. He's the physically and (especially) mentally tougher fighter, and the one time Hamed stepped up to elite class, he became very discouraged during the bout. Prime or not, he looked like a frontrunner versus MAB, and his actions afterward bore that out. Truth is, Pacquiao is Hamed's best chance to pick up an A+ victory. He'd get destroyed by the great Mexican trio, and Morales in particular would have hammered him something fierce.
I favor Pacquiao. But he would need to be more reserved than usual. He isn't going to stop Hamed IMO. And he shouldn't trade with him. But he could outspeed him and most likely would. He could also smother his power.
