I think Hatton beats them all back when he was wreaking havoc at 140. One thing I would like to say about Hatton, is that I think going for Pacquiao when he did was a massive mistake. After only 1 fight under Sr's tuition, they both should have seen that Hatton wasn't ready for another p4p shot. He should have asked and answered a few more questions surrounding him by taking on a few more bouts before stepping it up against Pac. It's easy for me to say this in hindsight, but you don't entirely renovate your style after just 1 fight against Malignaggi, then test it against Pac. I still think Hatton has a lot to offer, and I hope he does come back and wages war against the other 140lb'rs. It requires a lot of bloody hard training though, and he needs to find his hunger again, like when he was against Tzuyu. He was walking through punches that put him down twice in the 1st round against Pac, and should he decide to make a return, this needs to addressed (if possible).
what help did he get from the ref to beat up koysta the way he did? as far as bradley, he doesn't have the power to stop a prime hatton, hatton would walk him down, walk through punches and stop him mid to late. hatton beat 2 top 10 p4p fighters and was lineal champ for 3-4 years never coming close to losing at 140 until he met pac, who has bradley beaten again? there's no one currently at 140 (except pac) who would beat him in his prime.
I like Hatton a lot but I think he's overrated here. That being said, I think he beats them all but Bradley and Khan, and those two are close fights that could go either way.
if you honestly think Tim Bradley, Devon Alexander, Amir Khan, Marcos Maidana and Victor Ortiz all beat hatton in his prime then you're just a hater or know nothing. urango and malignaggi were also mentioned, and if he hadn't beaten them so easily, you would probably be saying the same thing about them too.
I'd pick him against all except Bradley. Hatton is underrated here because he was an unfortunate victim of circumstance. His toughest opponents both had the one attribute he can't handle effectively -- superior footspeed and quicker feet on the pivot. That's the same reason he struggled against Collazo and would have a very hard time against Bradley. Malignaggi was an exception because he can't punch a lick, but otherwise that's Ricky's kryptonite. But against KT, Cotto, JLC, Corrales, or even Chavez, I think he'd look a lot better, win or lose. The opposite end of this phenomenon is Kelly Pavlik, whose best opponents have played to his strengths with one key exception.
BRADLEY, BRADLEY, BRADLEY, BRADLEY GET A ****ING GRIP BRING HIM BACK WHEN HE BEATS A WORLD CLASS FIGHTER, DO NOT TALK 2 ME ABOUT JUNIOR THE SHITTER WITTER, HATTON WAS AN ANIMAL AS HAS BEEN STATED ALREADY, IF HE COULD MAKE THE WEIGHT HE WOULD BEAT HIM NOW, THIS SITE IS FULL OF HATTON HATERS. BEATEN OFF GREATEST 2 FIGHTERS OF HIS ERA THATS IT, OTHER THAN THAT ONLY COLLAZO CAME CLOSE, CURRENTS 140 CHAMPS NOT IN THIS BRACKET.:blurp
I still think Hatton is close to his peak. If he stays in shape BETWEEN fights he would be so much better. This is what seperates him from other greats. He only trains during training camp. To the point, Bradley is the one that will likely beat him. Khan can get that one punch, like Pac did, to KO him but he is a bit green and Hatton has shown he can handle speed to a certain degree. Victor Ortiz is too green and stylistically would be in a disadvantage over a experienced brawler like Hatton.
well you used to be the biggest paulie fan boy on this site and said that he would be too slick for hatton and beat him easily *cough* - sorry you did ask me to remind you. you know his resume, and there's plenty of fighters on there as good or better than the ones the op mentioned.
bit of a silly question, weve all seen hatton in his prime, but the guys ur asking if they would beat hatton, bradley, khan, alexander, maidana, ortiz, none of these guys are in their prime and tbh are a good few yrs away from their prime. i think bradley and khan are the 2 fighters who have fantastic potential and i think when they do reach their prime would give a prime hatton huge problems. the others maybe not so much but for the record i do think hatton was massively overrated
