Both were offensive juggernauts and their speed was unmatched. Defense is a whole another story. I would take Terry to school Hearns until a nice kiss on the chin would end it around the 9th rd.
Well these things never get old for me, but this one, THIS ONE is just too close to even talk about. I think for sure this is a prime weight class for Hearns, because I'm sure he was giving up a lot of stamina at 147. And Terry Norris was maxed out himself at 154. But wow man, two guys with offense like them and the power they carried with each shot, ANYTHING and I mean ANYTHING could have happened in there. Just wayyyy too close to call. I think if you did this fight over and over 100 times, the outcomes would be 50/50 with a lot of ****ing knockouts.
Either could easily be sung a lullaby, but I tend to think that the Hitman is the one carrying the tune, from behind on the cards.
Given Hearns's outside boxing skills, I can't see Norris "taking him to school". Hearns's boxing skills from the outside were terrific. He outboxed Benitez and Leonard for much of the first fight. Hagler turned into a face-first brawler since he knew he couldn't box in his usual style against Tommy. I think Hearns would take him out pretty early.
not only would hearns have beat terry...i think at one point somewhere in the late 90's...he'd have beat orlin too..at cruiser
