Prime Holmes v Prime Lennox: Who wins...

I like both. However, it's Holmes. More consistent jabbing quality, better chin and also more balanced inside.

It's a myth that Lennox Lewis was cautious and never took risks. Just watch Ruddock, Botha, Mercer, Grant, Rahman II, etc.

 

I have to laugh when I here people try to compare Lewsi or Vlad`s jab with Holmes`s jab ! Lewis like Vlad, has a push jab, heavy not fast and void of the snap of Holmes`... Holmes shot his fast, hard and went downstairs with it with equal effectiveness. Holems used his sterling jab aggresively, to set up his sharp right hand/uppercut.So please stop the jab comparisons. Holmes beats Lewis because he simply is the superior boxer.Lewis is clumsy footed alongside Holmes fantastic lateral movement. If Lewis cathces Holmes ( which is very possible) Holmes had the savvy and superb ring intelligence to get through any rough spots. The same can not be said of Lewis, who when hurt, got stopped twice.12 or 15 rd UD Homes all the way. And Lewis pretty busted up by the end of it...

I'll go with Holmes, without conviction..the previous post with the comparison to Holmes-Cooney is very interesting.

 

This would be amazing. Not sure about all this one sided talk. Prime Holmes would be one hard fighter to beat, that much I know. You see, after all the skills, he has so much heart and a near indomitable will to win. That said, I don't see him stopping Lewis, not at all. Lewis would be looking to neutralise Holmes' speed, skills up top, and his lateral movement. Lewis would be looking to do that by establishing the jab, but Holmes I would say has an even better jab than Lewis' great jab, Holmes may have the finest jab of all time in any division in fact. Lewis would likely become aggressor in an intense manner, and that always makes for excitment when Lewis does that, he's be looking to go over the jab with them massive right hands and looking to end it. I reckon Larry would come through some hell to take it on points.

I laugh when people bang on about Liston's jab. His jab was not anywhere near that of Holmes'. Liston's jab was so much slower and was hardly a real boxers jab. It had power, that was it. Holmes' jab had everything.

 

That's pretty much how I see it panning out to. I am a huge Lewis fan but Holmes had the jab, the speed and the durability to beat Lewis in a close fight.

 

Holmes has the quicker more boxer like jab. Holmes will pick Lennox apart and he has the right hand to score a late KO.

 

I LOL'D at the people that said Holmes would mop the floor with Lewis. Lewis wins a UD in my book

 

I think it would be a close fight regardless of who wins. If the fight turns into a boxing match, I'd favour Holmes. If Lewis can turn it into a fight, and land his over hand right and hurt Holmes with it, then I think Lewis would win. If I were to bet on an outcome, I'd relucantly pick Holmes but I certainly wouldn't bet a lot on either fighter. It's about a 52-55 odds in favour of Holmes.
