Bowe did not look any better than Frank Bruno beating coetzer - even old man foreman did as well against coetzer, who would pick old man foreman or frank bruno over Holmes of the 1978-82 vintage? Even Hide had Bowe on ***** street, I am sure Larry would too.

Bowe had talent and was big and brave but Holmes just had too much for him IMO.

Bowe is one of those guys who didn't build up a great legacy for himself, but has the size and skillset to be hell for just about anyone.

Not an easy fight to call.

veery hard to call. Prime Bowe can beat many ATGs, including Holmes.

but then Holmes was so good at outpointing good fighters.

I would have to say 50:50. I think Larry would have to get up from some knockdowns and would be pushed harder than anyone pushed him in order to win, likewise Bowe has to be on a Bowe night to beat Larry.

So this is the first one I have to call 50:50.

Seriously? Bowe whitewashed him. Because Foreman and Bruno stopped him a round later they fought him as well as Bowe did?

So this somehow relates to how Bowe would fight Holmes? Stupid comment.

Holmes couldnt punch as hard as Hide. Hide could punch and Bowe had zero respect for him and had him down some 7 times in the fight?
Ive read your posts regarding Bowe and Douglas and the comparisons and descriptions you give are just plain silly. Its ridiculous really.

im just saying old man foreman and Frank Bruno did as well as Bowe did against coetzer. its the same ballpark therefore isnt it fair to ask if the same three guys record the same kind of result against one guy is it that crazy to sugest the same 3 guys record simular result against another guy?

I am just saying why would Bowe deserve more chance against prime Holmes than say old foreman or Frank Bruno? against comon nontitle opponents Bruno, foreman and Bowe were simular.

Ok who did Hide knock out? I watched Hide's entire career and saw him live more than once. He did bang at a level and he got banged out at the same level too. Hide was exciting and fast but bentt only faced 2 rated fighters his entire life and Tucker was finished as a contender. Herbie was compleatly untested as a fighter when he went in with Bowe all other genuine class HW's would replicate what Bowe did at that time.

Not as silly as boasting about Bowe beating golota .. talk about shallow victories!

And what happened in the second fight when Holyfield fought with a more consistent jab and really trying to outbox Bowe ?

Holyfield didn´t box against Bowe when he lost......the I and III were more in the close distance than anything else....

I think Riddick could make it tough for Larry in spots, but Larry ultimately pulls out the UD, close if it's a 12 rounder, but in a 15 rounder, Holmes opens it up a bit more over Bowe.

Its overstated really. Bowe barely lost the fight anyway. To suggest he could easily be outboxed because Evander Holyfield got a razor decision against him is pretty shallow. Holyfield was a great fighter and a great boxer.

Noone was going to beat Bowe just boxing and moving he was too big and aggressive. If that was the case Larry Donald would have schooled him.

Holmes didnt have near the fighting skills of Bowe.

Oh no? ask kenny Norton about that. Holmes could brawl with the best of them. so much more desire than Bowe who was often sloppy by even your own admision.
