Holmes via late round TKO. Holmes was much like Ali in many ways, however he hit even harder, could go to the body, had a better fundamentals on defense, and had had a key weapon vs an in-fighter like Frazier. An excellent uppercut. Holmes seldom rested on the ropes as Ali did, which is where Frazier did his best work.

Right Hands sometimes nailed Holmes, but Holmes was seldom hit by hooks, and that is Frazier money punch.

I would go with Larry Holmes by decision in this one. It would not be an easy win, though...in my opinion.

Holmes would not be able to withstand the Frazier that Ali did.
Late round TKO for Joe or decision.

Late TKO for Frazier. Holmes may have been like Ali but he was not as good. Frazier beat an Ali that was not in his prime but still was as good or better than Larry. Frazier is all wrong for Holmes in my opinion.

Bull****...... Holmes had great durability and a chin; just like Ali.....

Ali was lucky to face a real boxer like Holmes when he was comebacking at at age 38 in '80..... Holmes had good power, but nothing wicked........

Larry Holmes was UNLUCKY at age 38 when he cameback to face Mike Tyson in '88 who is / was a wicked puncher........

Holmes smacks Frazier all around for a clear-cut decision win...........

Smokin Joe by decision.Larry has tremendous heart, and though Joe would put him down, and through tremendous punishment, he would last to the final bell.

Holmes would take the first four or five rounds with ease. Could Frazier come on strong enough and soon enough to overhaul The Easton Assassin's early lead ?

I've always maintained that in a twelve rounder,Holmes would take a close decision. Over fifteen,I give it to Frazier. Joe would be unstoppable in the final stages of the longer distance.
