His resume says otherwise you yourself in your post tells of holmes mistakes he tightened up on,age does not win fights ,skill does.Holyfield is an example of that he became better defensively in the late 90's himself.
Ring smarts/experience and able to adapt are what make a fighter superior? :nono Shot legs?did you miss the Mercer fight?
Yup I did, larry didn't dance much in that fight but he had a game plan which he stuck too while mercer was exposed for being one dimensional and not being able to switch to another strategy when plan A wasn't working.
Not sure how one dimensional mercer is he arguably beat lewis, maybe? And won half the rounds against Holyfield as well.Holmes also fought with one eye ,he dmaged it before the fight 2 weeks prior.
:twisted:The 1980 Holmes would beat Tyson over 12 on points may have get off the canvas to win but would do it .would be a *******.timemachine needed.
The bolded comment above shows a complete lack of boxing knowledge on your part. You really do consistently display utter and complete ignorance of boxing matters, it is utterly astonishing. You are consistently the most stupid poster I have seen over the years on ESB and made the greatest single contribution to the dumbing down of this board than any other poster. Mods - can some sort of QA checking be implemented to remove this ignoramus from ESB Classic please?
At 38 Mike Tyson was losing to legendary fighters like Danny Williams and Kevin McBride yet Holmes wasn't over the hill at that point....nut
