    Agreed,

Holmes would have a chance at beating Tyson, but he'd have to be 100% and give the very best performance of his career. Earnie Shavers hit like a truck but didn't have the finishing skills that Tyson had. If Tyson had been the one to floor Holmes that evening rather than Shavers, Larry may not have survived to retain his title.

holmes wins IF he lets tyson blow his wad within the first 4 to 5 rds.IF larry can avoid mikes game.im telling you larry is probably one the best late round war guys ive seen.he likes to fight in the later rds which is the answer to why so many of you are always on larrys nutsack.

    Holmes would comfortably UD Tyson
When they fought Holmes gave the worse performance of his career

The Holmes which fought Holyfield would have given Tyson fits and a peak Holmes is just far too good.

I rate Holmes higher on my atg list.... But style wise i think Holmes has always been succeptible to the right hand, a favorite of Mikes... Still kind of tough though i can also see a prime Larry surviving the early rounds and giving Mike all kinds of Headaches, especailly over 15 rounds .. This is pickem i can see Mike producing the same result(maybe a couple rounds later) or Larry hanging on and frustrating the hell out of Tyson and stopping him late or winning a decision... Im kind of stumped 50/50 fight imo.

Tyson was the wrong style for Holmes, lets face it the guys that gave Holmes trouble or had him hurt Weaver,Witherspoon,Shavers,Snipes could not together add up to Tyson...the right hand and weird angle shots would always be a problem for Larry In fact Larry goes as soon as he start to mix...I see the same result or a rd or 2 later depending on when Larry starts to mix....none of Holmes opponents combined add up to Mike Tyson

Tyson by KO over Holmes...wrong style

Tyson had some problems with Tillis (who was faded) and Tucker. Holmes beats him (even with Rooney in the corner). Jabs his ass off til he gets frustrated and loses his way. Holmes ko 10 but he may have to take a few bombs first.

Holmes didn't have much trouble with Shavers or Snipes. He lost a whopping 2 rounds against both of them combined.

Agree to disagree. How can a Holmes at the age of 42, 4 years older than when he fought Tyson, do any better than he originally had done? Because he was more active when he fought Holyfield? That's right, Holmes got that much needed one round of experience knocking out Tim "Doc" Anderson. I don't buy it. Maybe Tyson had something to do with Larry's performance!:deal

Tyson had the style to beat Holmes anyway. Unlike Shavers and Snipes, Tyson knew how to finish him once he had him hurt. Cus D'Amato trained Tyson on how to beat Holmes early on; Larry didn't move his head when he jabbed and also dropped his left. He leaves himself wide open to right hand counters. And...it's no coincidence that everytime Tyson decked Larry, it was the right hand that did it.

I'm not saying it would be an easy task because Larry had a solid chin. But Tyson would get him somewhere inside 12 rounds.

true but they were both very beatable at the time and Holmes was dropped badly by right hands...remember Snipes was dropped 2 times by Coetzee and given a gift in there fight to get the match with Holmes and Shavers was very beatable but hard Holmes down, which adds up to that they were able to land...I think Tyson was better equipped to do so with his speed and power

Tyson could nail a peak Larry in the early going. If it goes past five/six rounds, then Holmes takes it. Larry was a complete and utter twat for taking on Tyson when he did.
