    Sorry people.

You can't compare a prime Liston to the Tyson who fought Evander.

People are claiming that Liston will fold like Tyson did v Evander but forget that Tyson was past his prime, and Holyfield also.

If Evander applies those hit and hold tactics with Liston he would probably get beaten, styles makes fights, and the style Evander used v Mike would not work v Liston.

I can see Liston v Evander being like Holyfield v Mercer, except Liston is better than Mercer.

I'd pick Holyfield because of his versatility, he was a tremendous counter puncher. I think he could deal with Liston's strength but Holy could beat many heavyweight prior to him because EH was one of the best developed heavyweights ever in terms of technical skill and he was never out of shape for a fight.

This would be a battle and a half. Imo,they'd share the spoils for the first three rounds or so. After that Holyfield would get sucked into a brawl, and get punished by Liston's jab and heavier punching. A brave Evander would be rescued by the referee before the seventh.

Holyfield UD - too much speed, workrate, movement, chin

Got to disagree here. There not roughly the same size. Holy was pumped up at 204lbs without a pick of fat on him and with extra help. Liston was a helluva lot naturally stronger also imo. liston gets underated at times, and evanders heart would get him into trouble here.

i see most people picking holyfield. i pick sonny. look at bowe vs holyfield where holyfield let himself be drawn into a battle.
overall sonny is the more complete boxer compared to holyfield

LIston would kill him. Holyfield would have niether the punch or boxing ability to hold Sonny off. a majorleague beatdown. Go to a bodybuilder's body like Toney (and noone else really did w/ conviction against Holy. Tyson didn't) did and he folds up. Liston punces on the slowmoving target and kicks the Georgia spit out of Holyfield and Holyfield then says he will not give up and gets another woman pregnant.:viking:fy:tomb

No ****in way. His biggest win is over an overrated slovenly Bowe and a washedup, weakminded just out of prison Tyson. Holy is the most overrated heavyweight in history along with Lewis. A lot of you guys probably grew up w/ these guys but if you had grown up in the 60s, 70s, or even the era of Holmes or the years before these even, I can't see how you hold Holyfield and Lewis so far up the mountain.:admin

No thats why I added the :yep. Holys a warrior with a lot of will. Hes never been blown out by anyone, and I dont see Liston being leagues above anyone hes fought especially a 230 6'5 prime Riddick Bowe or prime Lennox Lewis.
