Holyfield W12. Holyfield was 46 vs. Valuev. Holyfield should have won but Valuev was not better than Vitali.

Holyfield's skills would lead him to a decision victory.

Holyfield is 1-4 on fair scorecards vs Lewis and Bowe. He does not match up well with bigger men with skills.
Vitali would be too much for Holyfield.

That's not the impression I got from watching those 5 fights.

Bowe W12 Holyfield '92 -First loss as a pro for the 30 year old Holyfield. He wanted Tyson and didn't think too much of Bowe (mistake). Holy had made Bowe quit in the gym before. Some people felt that he lost to Tubbs. He had some trouble with Biggs and a lot of trouble with Coetzer (low blows set up that KO). He was supposed to be Ridiculous Bowe but he really pulled it together in his first fight with Holyfield. He got away with countless lowblows and never lost a point. I also think the knockdown in round 11 was B.S. but whatever.

Holyfield fought a much smarter fight in the rematch. I think Bowe would have been stopped had fan man not interrupted the fight. Bowe was not as good this night but had he been he would have still lost.

Holyfield was clearly not 100% in their 3rd fight but still dropped Bowe in round 6 and had him out but was too exhausted to finish him. Ricardo Lopez could have stepped in and finished him at that point. Something was wrong with Holyfield.

Lewis D12 Holyfield '99 -A 36 1/2 year old Holyfield looked old that night. He looked good in round 3 ( the round he picked to stop Lewis in) but that was about it. Lewis should have won but at least he didn't get a loss.

Holyfield looked good in the rematch, some felt he won. It could have been scored a Draw for sure but after the reaction to the first decision the only way Holyfield was going to win was by KO. Prime vs. Prime, I say Holyfield.

What? You think Bowe would have been stopped if not for fan man? Holyfield was the one with stamina issues, and the 17 minute delay allowed Holyfield to re-fuel. Bowe's corner was a mess. His crazy manager thought it was a political assignation attempt, and his pregnant wife passed out as was taken from the scene.

Holyfield won via razor margin, and I think it was because he has Steward in his corner with no distractions!

The re-match between Holyfield and Lewis was not a draw. Lewis won it cleanly.

Would Holyfield have beaten Lewis at age 33? Maybe, but Lewis waited for the right moment to pick the fight.

Holy v Bowe 2 was not the same Bowe imo...He wasn't in as good shape, and not as hungry as the first. Unprofessional

Did Bowe have to run a marathon during the "Fan-Man" break while Holyfield go to rest? That's bullshlt! No wonder Holyfield won.

I know it was close on the cards and Bowe did break Holy's nose but I thought Holyfield clearly won. Holyfield actually won the previous round 10-8 on at least one card even though Bowe didn't go down. Holyfield had the momentum prior to the interruption.

As for Lewis vs. Holyfield II. Yes, it was a close fight and a lot of people including plenty of sports writers felt like it could have been a draw. I think Sport Illustrated was one of the magazines that had an article stating that. Hey, their first fight actually was a Draw... I thought Lewis deserved the win though. They don't always get the decisions right. No matter what Holyfield ended up with a Draw and a Loss vs. Lewis despite the fact that he was past prime and 36 1/2 and 37 in their two fights.

    Blade,

Lewis won it 7-5 or 8-4 Officially it was a draw but the officials were jokes.

" Most of the blame was heaped upon Eugenia Williams, who had declared Evander Holyfield the winner.Though she initially denied any wrongdoing, after reviewing a replay of the fight, she stated she would have called the fight a draw. British judge Larry O'Connell, who scored the fight a draw, also received a fair amount of criticism. He said he had made a mistake, stating "I feel sorry for myself. I've taken so much stick. But I feel even more sorry for Lennox "

    Hmmm, judges remorse?

    Punch stats:

Jabs laded, Lewis 182, Holyfield 52!
Power punches landed. Lewis 161, Holyfield 78!
Total punches landed Lewis 348, Holyfield 130!
