Let 's say a heavyweight version of Holyfield 89-91 somewhere in that era. I almost think we could even use the jr heavyweight version in the 2nd fight vs Qawi but he was probably was too lite for wlad, I think he was about 187-190. Let's go with either the 208 version or 210 version who fought Douglas and Cooper. I feel Evander would be a technical nightmare for Wlad and Wlad's robotic ways. I rank Evander among one of the greatest easily as far as most technique sound fighters during their primes, his power was a little above average not super great but he was one of the most sound all around boxers that I can name in this weight class.
Lol. Lewis killed Holyfield and way robbed in one match - what do you think a guy 2 inches taller will do let alone the poor showing Holyfield had vs Bowe! All holyfield does is head massage Wlad's chest in clinches - anything else and you're dreaming.
Holyfield would turn it into a brawl, wore down Wlad and stopped him. It may be tempting to be over impressed with Wlads dominance Saturday, but he really didn't have much in front of him. Chagaev lacked the imagination or the will to make a fight of it. Holyfield NEVER would have fought so passivly or quit. Wlads a nice guy, but he is taking advantage of todays absoloute drought of formidible heavyweights.
Wlad has never fought a boxer as good as Holyfield in his prime. If Brewster, Sanders and Puritty can stop Wlad, prime Holy could“ve done for sure also.
Wladimir vs. this Wladimir vs. that.... you guys must be really desperate with Wlad as the Ring Champ ... get over it goddammit....
Holyfield has everything to beat Wlad when they are both prime. Holyfield has ATG speed, chin, punch variety, heart and ring smarts. Wlad is a very big man with decent speed and power. If Holyfield came in with his counters and landed a few combinations a round then he'd win by KO I'm sure. Wlad's chin is bordering on abysmal. Faded Holyfield gave Lewis some tough-ish fights (especially the second). A prime Holyfield (even at ~210) would have given the robotic Wlad nightmares. The guy has NO inside game for a start.
The last person to counter Wlad was? Wlad picks the space in which he throws the Jab very effectively. I don't know the outcome of the fight, I rate Holyfiend's heart, speed and toughness very highly, but I'll take Wlad by UD.
Wlad would stand a much better chance against Holyfield than he would Tyson. Holyfield's foot movement, hand speed, combinations, heart and chin. I feel would be too much for Wlad to overcome. I see Wlad having some moments early in the fight, but once Wlad gets caught with a decent hook, a panic attack will follow soon after. Holyfields a good finisher, so it wouldn't take long before Wlad hits the canvas. 6th round TKO win for Holyfield.
