you mean the same Holyfield that lost rounds to 40+ year old Holmes and 40+ year old Foreman would win 9 out of 10 against Lewis??? Geez... idiocy just knows no limits on this forum!
are you serious?! how old are you any way ? maybe you re thinking of some other neighborhood bully of yours. john, jack or don holyfield because you obviously missed the boat on the guy were talkin about.
Yes, the same Lewis who was KO-ed by Hasim Rahman & Oliver McCall and would have been by Vitali had it not been for the cut.
Honestly that Evander that did lose rounds to Foreman and Holmes yes he would have beat Lewis back in those days, Lewis was not the same fighter, not even the same style as he has fought with Stewart he had poor balance and rarely followed up with the left hook. Evander would have given that Lennox fits, and lets not forget Holyfield did lose alot of blood due to that cut caused by an elbow from Holmes lets not also forget that Holyfield put such a beating on the body of Larry, that Larry ended up throwing up at the very end of the fight.... Holyfield like him or not was something special and its going to be years before we get another HW like that.
And I never said he'd win 9 out of 10 rounds against Lennox, Lennox was a great fighter and any fight they had would be close. But I truly believe Holyfields heart and technical skills in his prime would have been enough to best Lewis.
The same Prime Wlad that was knocked out in the 2nd round by Sanders, who lost to both Nate Tubbs and Rahman. The same Wlad that punched himself out against a 15 month inactive Brewster, who had losses to fellow journeymen in Shufford and Eitenne. It goes both ways, at least Holyfield won those fights against greats, Wlad was knocked out by journeymen in his prime.
As for Wlad vs. Holyfield, I already said in another thread that in order to stand a legitimate chance against today's Klitschko (let's not talk about the version that fought Sanders) one needs the following 3 attributes: 1). speed (or be as big as Klitschko) 2). power 3). very good chin Holyfield had only #1 and #3. Klitschko would most likely decision him similar to what Bowe did.
Who said that Wlad was in his prime against Sanders? He's at his best now, just like Lewis was at his best once he hired Steward.
I am sorry but I do beleive Holyfield had all three, your not going to tell me that Holyfield didnt have Power, Tyson has a rock solid chin, you dont need one shot power to beat Wlad. Holyfields speed and his counter punching and his work rate back then would have been enough, we already know he has the chin http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6fQAd4njgsU
Not even sure about that, you have to remember a Past his prime Holyfield fought a very close fight with a Prime Lennox Lewis and its to my beleif that had Lewis not got the draw in the first fight Holyfield would have been declaired the winner in the 2nd. I had Holyfield winning that fight 115-113 in the rematch! and this was an older Holyfield who pulled off the close fight, though its officially a lose you can not argue or disagree it was close. Do you think that, that Lennox Lewis would have been able to deal with the Evander that Bowe faced in their first fight? I dont think that, that Lennox could have, he had a hard time with the older slower Evander who didnt have the same speed and work rate its obvious Holyfield takes this one. Prime for Prime.
