    Calzaghe would win by decision also, since Hopkins wouldn't be able to bully him as he is a natural MW, and was as such in his prime. Both have padded sheets beyond belief.

    At least Hopkins would have a small chance. Watching an old man get smacked about is bad TV.

    We might get a better idea on April 19th. I'd say Calzaghe majority decision but what the **** do I know? I might well be biased as a Brit.
    Joe fights a bit like an inferior Roy Jones. Where Jones won fairly easily, Calzaghe stuggles deperately.
    However I am wary of anyone who's says it'll be an easy win for either guy. Now watch this thread go to ****!:D

    Let's break it down;

    Calzaghe is a lefty. Naturally he's susceptable to left hooks and straight rights. He also seems susceptable to uppercuts. The guy relys alot on his speed so you'll need to work the body to slow him down. He also is known for his high workrate. One of the best things you can do to combat a fighter with a high workrate is use good movement, give him angles. It would also serve you well to be a good counterpuncer. The more someone is punching, the more they leave themselves open to be countered. Another one of Calzaghe's biggest assets is his ring intelligence. He does a good job of out thinking his opponent.

    So to beat Calzaghe, you need a good left hook, straight right, and uppercut. You need to be able to work the body. You have to have good footwork out there. You need good stamina, as well as be a good counterpuncher. You also need to have a good amount of ring intelligence.

    Prime Hopkins has all those tools and them some. Prime Hopkins was much better with his legs than he is now, his stamina was great, and he had good speed as well. Given his stylistic advantages over Calzaghe, I would definately pick a prime Hopkins over him.

    Hopkins does like beating up on dudes well below his natural weight. My only real observation is that Hopkins never looks quite the same against chaps who naturally keep weight.

    Would you like me to list all the natural MW's that he beat? Shall I also mention how he went up two divisions to beat one of the top LHW's? Your opinion doesn't hold that much weight.

    Calzaghe is so unorthodox I can't even figure out how he's so successful in the first place. Hopkins is todays Archie Moore, a professor of the manly arts.The question is, can the PHD of boxing thwart the confusing whirling durbish? I'd have to go with Hopkins , but then I can't get out of my mind the images of Lacy and Kessler, sitting on their stools between rounds looking as confused as second graders trying to comprehend physics.
    It'll be interesting to see, who's zooming who.
