Prime Hopkins vs Mayweather at 158 catch weight

Mayweather is one of my favorite fighters ever alongside SRL, but damn, get off the dude's nuts man. Do you understand that if Mayweather is fighting at 158 (we've never seen him fight at such a weight btw), consequently he will not be in his prime. If you think Mayweather is so good that a blown up version of him could challenged a prime Hopkins then you're delerious.

I doubt that Mayweather could beat a prime Duran at 135 or prime DLH at 147. How the hell would he beat Hopkins at 158?

 

Mayweather was bigger AND more skilled than JMM. How does that apply to this situation?

Hopkins kicks his ass. Win for Hopkins in this one...Mayweather doesn't belong at 158.

 

But I thought size doesn't matter for Mayweather, his skill will carry him through any fight. He could even easily UD Pavlik just on his skill and evasion.

No he wont, its only about 2 divisions up. He can handle it, considering his skills.

 

Mayweather is also a supreme athlete, he knows his body and trains hard. He will put on the weight properly so he will not be bloated.

 

Way too big of an ask for Mayweather. Sure, he could probably scratch and potshot his way through lesser middleweights but you're expecting a bit much for him to beat a great one. He's been potshotting more and more as he's got heavier, a young aggressive Hopkins would be particularly painful for him.

It's not like Hopkins is even some scrub that is just big and easily outboxed, he is one of the few to rival Mayweather in certain disciplines.

 

Imagine how boring that fight would be. Hopkins UD obviously.
