Prime Hopkins: What were some of his big wins?

No BEFORE Hopkins he was known to throw over 1000 punches a fight. Vs Quartey he threw over 1100....vs Hopkins he threw just over 600.

People on here go on about Calzaghe's win resume but when you take everything into consideration (e.g The Trinidad win fighting a much smaller guy), there isn't a whole lot of difference between them.

Get the **** outta here with that bull****. Do some research. Tito had trouble for YEARS making the lower weights and just before Hopkins had just OBLITERATED the third ranked MW in the world (with Tito and Hopkins being 1 and 2). He was also HEAVILY favored.

Calzaghe's resume is NOT close to Hopkins...it really is not.

 

Trinidad, Allen, Holmes, Wright, Tarver, Johnson.

DLH, Eastman, Joppy, Echols, Taylor (arguably)...so on and so forth.

I love Calzaghe...the regulars know he is one of my all time favorites...but his resume is just not even in the same breath as Bernard's.

 

A big part of Hopkins' legend IMO is that all of his more famous wins actually came when he was already past his athletic best.
His win over Johnson was very under the radar, and Johnson was untested and even more unknown, but every time i watch it, i can't help but feel that it was his most beautiful boxing performance, and i always wonder what his career would have been like if he had reached the big time earlier.
