Thats what the so called experts said about Tua & Byrd lol The late great Curtis Cokes really worked miracles with Ike. Curtis was the one guy Ike would listen to

Whatever happens in the fantasies of the people who believe Ike Ibeabuchi was some kind of great fighter, in reality he was very unproven.

Chris Byrd came out aggressive in the Ibeabuchi fight, rather than defensive as he was against Tua and Vitali. A very poor strategy for a small man and weak puncher.

Tua was very overrated, whenever he fought a world-class opponent (Byrd and Lewis) he always lost. Tua avoided both Klitschkos, as well as Povetkin, Ibragimov and Chagaev.

And Ibeabuchi wasn't such a hard puncher, he caught Tua flush many times, while Tua was KOed rather easily by Felix Savon in the amateurs (a teenage Ruslan Chagaev beat Savon in 1997, and again in 1999).

So because Tua got KO'D in the ametures that automatically means his chin isn't good in the pros ? Lewis teed off on him at will at Tua ate everything. I'd say he had a pretty good chin in his professional career. He's overrated but he absolutely destroyed Michael Moorer and John Ruiz and beat Rahman

Byrd never really came out aggressive against Ibeabuchi, he fought Ibeabuchi the exact same way he fought Povetkin, and Ibeabuchi fought a prime Byrd, not a shot one. I don't even remember Povetkin dropping Byrd, and it was a very random stoppege at that, Byrd didn't look hurt at all. It was Byrds father who randomly threw in the towel, probably because Byrd wasn't listening to his corner.

He is, but on the flipside, I believe Tua and Povetkin are right there with Ike regarding overrated heavyweight "boogeymen".

In my humble opinion, those 3 all tend to get an awful lot of benefits of doubt when it comes to various hypothetical match-ups.
