First thing first, Ike Quartey and Floyd Mayweather are physical replicas, both 5'8' with 72", Quartey started at 130s, picked up his belt at 147. Prime Quartey arguably had the GOAT Jab (power, accuracy & volume) & one has to wonder if Mayweather can deal with Ike Quartey jab :think This fight would never happen at any era, mainly because of the ripened Cherry & Ducks strict diet that Mayweather adheres to. Its still a fantasy fight that we can analyze :roll:
Ike. The jab would have won rounds for Bazooka and Floyd's never taken power like Ike's. Their stature may be similar but Quartey's strength and workrate would be a real problem for Floyd. Agree that Floyd never would have fought someone like him. Too risky.
I think they have the same strength, Ike mental toughness gives that extra strength aura... Plus his militant belief in his jab. It breaks guys down, Quartey right is possible as strong as Mayweathers The difference is that Quartey will never back up and stomps the ring confidently behind that bazooka jab. Its a shame we never got to see Floyd is existential fights.
Either Ike would have live to faraway to fight, they weren't fighting to see who the best was, or health would have come first.
