No version of Holyfield or Lewis beats an
88 version of Tyson. Mike was too
    fast, powerful, ruthless, and elusive.
Lewis's chin would get tested and fail
and Holy is a warrior but would
Get pummeled to a tko loss, although
he might have some success. Until
he was completely shot Tyson was
Incredibly difficult to stop. Im a grown
Man, so my opinion counts. Haha
Just kidding, Prime focused Mike was
    damn near unbeatable.

GI, I agree, and I think it's because of some wannabe macho idolatry because Tyson appears to represent all that is "bad" and "hard", and seems to represent some kind of pseudo wannabe gangsta culture that appeals to a certain peurile mentality, that believes that being "nice", "polite" and "decent" is a weakness...hence the belief with some that Lewis was a "*****" because he had a loving, normal relationship with his mother...

Anyway, back on topic...Tyson has a puncher's chance against Lewis but I would back Lewis to break Tyson down physically and mentally for a stoppage in about 10 rounds..

Tyson has a lesser puncher's chance against Holy, but Holy is too mentally tough and bullies the bully out of it...I see a similar outcome to the first fight between the 2...

In '88 Iron Mike would easily be able to get inside and land bombs on glass jaw Lewis. Lewis wanted nothing to do with Mike after they sparred and only fought him when he was broke, completely void of his skills and ability and only looking for a payday. And Tyson still lasted 8 rounds and surprised even Lewis of how he was able to take massive shots and not fall. Lewis is bombed out in the early to middle rounds.

Holyfield couldn't even beat a post prison Mike fairly. After taking copious amounts of steroids and HGH he grew his giant head and used it as a battering ram against Mike all night in the first fight. He was clearly rocked by Tyson within seconds of the opening bell and then started his blatant cheating methods. He wouldn't be able to do that against Mike in his prime and would be stopped within the middle rounds.

I'm not a kid btw (username has nothing to do with my age), morons.

I give Lewis a higher chance of victory than I do Holyfield, and both could beat Tyson.

I wouldn't ever totally write off Tyson, either.

Lewis hid out in the amateurs for 4 extra years

If anyone ducked it was Lewis. But honestly neither fighter really ducked each other, I will admit that I was probably wrong to state that. The point is that Lewis would get embarrassed if he met Tyson in his prime.

There was a Manny Steward quote or interview
posted recently when he said Tyson never ducked
anyone. There is a lot of politics behind
    matchmaking: purses, sanctioning,
    networks/ppv, location, date,
    promotion, etc. Grateful if someone
can pull or post a link to that thread.
You can certainly argue that Lewis
stayed in the amateurs to avoid
    Tyson, however Lewis really wanted
that Olympic gold. I just don't
    Understand how people predict
a similar outcome with a version
of Tyson that was 14 years younger.
    Holy headbutted Mike repeatedly
and hit him with evrything but the
kitchen sink in 96, Holy simply
Would not have the power to
    hurt prime Mike.

Lewis already got broken badly when sparring from Tyson

    [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RVKk6ZURemI&t=8m20s[/ame]

Mike became the youngest heavyweight champion of the world and was on track to becoming the greatest champion in history while Lewis was cowering in the amateurs.

Some people create threads just to state their opinion as a matter of fact and aren't interested in anyone else's input, no matter what.

I will address the "Lewis already got broken badly when sparring from Tyson" by stating that Tyson got beat in the ams by Tyrell Biggs... We know how similar the results were when they fought in the pros...

There are tons of examples of this very thing all throughout boxing history where boxer A gets schooled in sparring or the amateurs by boxer B and then they fight in the pros... Sometimes with the same result, sometimes drastically different.

I'd say Lewis had all the tools necessary to whip Tyson, and I believe he would.

Lewis and Holy are two of my faves, I
grew up in the 90s so I was into
Lewis and Holy before Tyson. He
did have an aura of legend surrounding
him, Ive always admired the fearlessness
of Holy as well and the fact that Lewis
    straight up bombed out superheavies.
However imo, Lewis didnt have the
chin and Holy didnt have the power.
    Im not comparing Pinklon Thomas
to Lewis, only that they both had
    exceptional jabs. Pink hung around
for a while and used the jab and
had quite a sturdy chin greater than
or equal to Lewiss, I believe its
just a matter of time before Mike
    gets to him.

Lewis' chin is underrated by some.

Tyson's power is overrated by some.

There was a hell of alot more to Lewis than a good jab and a shaky chin...

You mean the olympic trials with the most ******ed scoring system ever?

Lewis simply cannot survive Tyson in the early rounds and won't be able to deal with the excellent head movement, elusiveness and explosive power of Mike.

Pink had an iron chin and had never been KOed before his fight with Tyson. Simply no comparison in that regard, Lewis has been one shotted twice and Pink was finally floored by a 15 punch onslaught.

A shot Tyson lasted 8 rounds with prime Lewis. Prime Tyson sparks him in 3.

The guys who lasted with Mike had great chins, Lewis doesn't. Lewis was even struggling with Tyson left overs like 43 year old Tony Tucker.
