However you spin it, we are comparing a man who was the best in the world, who beat a lot of contenders, to somebody who built his resume on men ranked outside the top ten.

You can't get round that simple fact.
    With contenders the opposite happens.

A contender from Dempsey's era, is less likely to get his dues than a contender from Tua's era.

The equivalents of the men that Tua beat, in Dempsey's era, you wouldn't even mention in Dempsey's defense today!
You seem to counter facts with speculation here.

We don't know how Firpo would do in another era, but we do know that he was one of the best contenders of his own era.

Exactly the kind of scalp that is conspicuously missing from Tua's resume!

Yes, I said he'd be the hardest puncher Tua ever fought

This, I find hilarious. A guy who wasn't even 180 pounds for his most destructive performance (if we believe him having weights in his pockets for the weigh in), a guy who was allowed to stand directly over his fallen foe in this performance and essentially sucker punch him but still couldn't halt him... this guy hit harder than Lennox Lewis and Ibeabuchi and Rahman and Maskaev, real sized men?

Give me a break. Dempsey probably hit as hard as Marco Huck.

Yes, but Morrison didn't fight Tua. I also think the likes of Marciano, Foreman, Shavers and Lyle hit harder than Dempsey

Oh shut up. Willard, Carnera, Wills, Louis and the like were all "real sized men" and Dempsey hit harder than them. It's stupid to think Dempsey had weights in his pockets. Dempsey had been coming in at 188 beforehand and continued to look shredded at 187-188 afterwards.

Diminishing returns for size. Also don't even pull any bull**** like Dempsey wasn't a "real man" just cause he didn't weigh 220lbs

Dempsey would put a beating on Tua and would most likely stop Tua if he came in overweight.

It’s a shame, since Tua due to laziness was basically a waste of talent. If he would’ve stayed in shape at around 210-215lbs throughout his care he would’ve had a great chance at being a champion, but at 225+ he had almost no head movement and was slow as molasses.

Baer? I think Dempsey beats Baer. I think he gives Liston a tough time.

I think we have to assume that Dempsey hits about as hard as you can get for a sub 200lb guy.

Tough to think of a worse match up for a 180 something pound swarmer who see's red when hit that to put him in against a blazing starting , extremely fast, murderous two handed punching tank with fifty pounds on him .. Tua proved to be a career underachiever but if he hit you early forget it ..

    Right?
    I try telling people.

And also Tyson would be lucky if he hit harder than a real sized man like Jarrell Miller.

Some people just don’t want to let go of their fantasies and fairy tales.

Sam Langford and Bob Fitzsimmons probably hit harder than Dempsey, I'd comfortably favour them to KO anyone who Dempsey did. Well Willard might be a difficult outing but I'd still pick them by KO
