Tiger. LaMotta's style was pretty much made for him.

anybody else with the same style as lamotta would get chewed up and dumped on their ass by tiger, but lamotta was a hard ******* and would go to war all the way albeit in a losing effort. tiger would be one of the few people at 160 who could handle lamotta in the trenches and outmatch match him for strength and endurance (not to mention hand speed, power, and combination punching). a battle of grit over wit with tiger prevailing by decision (as he always would in those types of matchups).

I don't think Tiger was stronger or tougher, but he was a better combination puncher and would probably land the more telling shots. On the other hand, LaMotta had the more consistent workrate, whereas Tiger seemed to take rests to pick his spots a lot more often. It'd be a close one either way, and an absolute war.

UD Tiger for sure. Equally as rough, better overall fighter, and harder hitter. LaMotta's toughness is the only thing that keeps him in this.

nobody's tougher than jake at 160, but stronger? tiger all the way. the difference in build and physical makeup plus the manner in which tiger handled powerful middles such as floro fernandez, gene fullmer, henry hank, rubin carter, jose gonzalez, rocky rivero, and so forth dont lie. tiger is a 160 lb juggernaut.

LaMotta and Tiger seem to have the same physical make-up from what I can see. Tiger may have been more "ripped" but that doesn't necessarily make him stronger.

Tiger handled Gene Fullmer but Fullmer was never no LaMotta in my opinion. LaMotta didn't really have to back down against anybody at middleweight.

Jake LaMotta wins by decision in a great fight, LaMotta was more than a bullish tough brawler, he was one of the craftiest fighters ever and new all the old school tricks, very underated as a boxer.

I can see LaMotta outworking Tiger to a close UD/MD/SDbut taking huge punishment at the same time.

I beg to differ. tiger definitely was more developed in the arms, legs, and chest areas, obviously lamotta was no pushover at midddleweight but his strength was not pitted and tested against the same level of powerhouses at middle like the guys tiger fought. Jake often had a significant weight advantage over opponents as well.

and yes this is boxing and not bodybuilding, but to say that muscle definition cant be used as an indication of strength is silly. tiger has the strongest base of any middle I've seen hands down, and the film only supports this claim.
