    With prison boxing programs being abolished, it makes you wonder what ATG fighters or at least solid world class fighters are we missing out on? Sonny Liston, Ron Lyle, Dwight Qawi, James Scott we're all products of prison boxing programs. If not for the boxing program at Missouri State Pen, wedw have no idea a Sonny Liston ever existed

    According to the article he was offered $100 grand for a shot against Bob Foster but ruined by violating his parole and being locked up again

    I didn't hear that he had died. I guess he'd really faded into obscurity. At his peak, he actually was famous beyond the boxing world to a certain extent.

    Both Moore and Charles would have beaten him. Moore was too crafty and Charles too skilled. Plus, intimidation was a big big part of Scott's wins at Rahway. I can't really picture Moore being scared of anyone. And Charles was a WWII vet if I remember correctly, so chances are he'd been around situations more intimidating than Rahway.

    Exactly. Mustafa just went thru the motions. He tried to get Scott a shot at his title as soon as he won it. He definitely wasn't scared.

    Scott was a good top 5 contender type for mine. He would have fitted nicely into the division at the time which was extremely strong. I don't think he would have won the title on neutral ground tho. They had some strong champs thru that period.

    Scott would be one of the best that both men faced. He may give a good account of himself and not go quietly.

    you're right, it might well look like Joe Smith vs. Jesse Hart, Smith was too strong, too aggressive. Scott fought like that too. I can't see any fighter having an easy fight against James Scott at 175 in the days of the same day weigh in.
