You mean James used steroids? Oh my god. He must have turned into megatron an shat out fire. Every elite heavy the past 25 years has used most likely.

An Yeah Vtali would win on points. An yeah people **** on Vitali too much for the Byrd fight. You get a shoulder dislocation severe enough your not going to be coming out for another round. Its excruciating an the longer the shoulder is out the more permanent the damage will be. Vitali knew this an did the smart thing an called it a day.

yes, a few of his fights were changed to no contests due to testing negative. Hasim Rahman and John Ruiz if i remember correctly

This guy just seriously gets over rated, he couldnt even beat Montell Griffin at Light heavyweight (TWICE!) and gets treated as an ATG?

He avoided the best at super middleweight, his run made Joe Calzaghes look legendary! Eubank and Benn v Toney could have been big fights but he didnt take them, he just talked **** as he always does

pathetic light heavyweight run, beats one guy at cruiserweight then juices up to compete at heavyweight

rant over, just annoys me. he was a decent middleweight but never took those attributes up in weight and lost every time against the top opposition

He was fighting as a jmw-mw during the amatuers. If he dried himself out then he would of made the mw limit, but his goal was to fight at hw. The fact that Byrd could move down to lhw then finish at cw should tell you that he was never a true hw. He himself admits that.

Benn and Eubank avoided him. Calzaghes smw resume is not much better than Toneys - unless you count lots of wins over journeymen as an amazing feat.

    Why?
Both Toney and Byrd are defensive minded counterpunchers

What is prime Toney, I suppose the one who fought Evander Holyfield and I suppose you mean a 40 year old version of Vitali that fought Chisora then Toney would give him problems and would make it competitive but still lose on points.

Prime James Toney would likely beat guys like Tyson, Holyfield, and possibly Lennox Lewis inside the distance, but I think Vitali would tough out a SD.

Toney is IBA Heavyweight champion right now. He also held the WBO title and I believe he was robbed against Sam Peter in the first fight. I think Toney should be considered a legit champion because he hasn't actually been dominated at Heavyweight and he currently is holding a title.
