I believe Toney. But with Bernard you don't have to say 'prime', he has been at the top and fought the best for a far longer period than Toney. When people look back on their respective careers Hopkins will rank higher.

Hopkins wins 8 times out of 10.

James Toney was never a certain bet to turn up at his best. Hopkins was. Nard has always respected Boxing and shown up in shape, Toney hasn't.

Hopkins wins a razor close decision, because he's more mobile IMO.

160 was Bhop's prime and 168 was Toney's prime imo. i probably can be easily swayed but I think Toney was at his best at 168lbs. At 160 I pick the Toney from the McCallum fight. I think Bhop's mouth would cause him to get very motivated.

I think Toney was at his best at 160. He had a much better balance between offense and defense at the weight. I think he beats Hopkins on points. Toney has shown he can hang with top guys like McCallum and Nunn, Bhop has never shown that ability.
