Well he's been put up against prime Frazier and contender Chuvalo, so how's he do against this version of foreman? Certainly not the best George but good enough to nail Moorer. The absolute prime version of Jeffries here so, is foreman in for a hard night?
Who did old Foreman Bolivianize who was remotely wold class? We need to look past the fact that this old man is called George Foreman, and see him for what he is. A 48 year old fighter who usually lost against ranked opponents, and would probably never have been champion again, if he had not drawn Michael Moorer.
Dwight Mo Qawi? Not world Class? Ron Lyle? Not World Class? Ken Norton? Not World Class? Joe Frazier? Not World Class? Gerry Cooney? Not Word Class?
We are talking about this version of Foreman. So it doesn't matter what he did to Frazier, Norton, or Lyle. Qawi was not a world class heavyweight at this stage. Coonney was no longer world class at this stage.
Jeffries is criticized for being slow but I doubt he was slower than the old version of Foreman. Prime Jeffries is underrated on here in my opinion.
Jeffries is vastly overrated. There is film, although poor quality, that shows him fighting. He had what, 16 fights or so? Old Foreman wrecks Jeffries.
These hilarious threads crack me up. Jim Jeffries was a 6'0 tall guy who fought mostly 180 pound or less fighters. The fighters during that era were incredibly unskilled compared to modern fighters. So Foreman was bigger, stronger, more skilled and much better at everything (even when he was 45). Foreman by KO in a few rounds.
