That’s so cute. You think ringside refs are accurate and fair during every fight? Not to mention a Don King fight? Adorable. Bless your heart. Now, Iron Mike Tyson himself stated otherwise in his autobiography Undisputed Truth. Page 142-143. “But in the second, third, fourth, and fifth he was coming back. He probably won a few of those rounds...” But no no. Please come back with how Iron Mike Tyson was wrong and how you’re right.

Watching the fight, yes, Pinklon won two of the rounds, hence why I used the word few. Well that and the fact that Tyson himself used the word “few”. Mike understands this. The boxing world understands this. You... just adorable.

Just watched the fight again, I gave Thomas the 4th and 5th rds.
Lose the sarcasm fella, it's not warranted or appreciated.

I actually have to give it to Quarry, but probably by a split decision. Neither fighter was anywhere near an ATG, but Quarry had more determination imo.

I just didn't like how much of a crybaby Quarry could be when stopped. It was really embarrassing at times.

    Thomas. Going away.

He'll jab Quarry to death. And Quarry's little shuttle step is not closing the distance any to get him into range. Jerry is way too easy to hit and this guy's jab will land all night. one sided decision and Quarry would be fortunate to not get busted up from that jab.

When Thomas was on (which seemed relatively rarely and thus kind of a big waste) he had an excellent (not too far from Holmes' quality) jab and a fine right hand.

Ultimately Thomas was a bit like the 80s Jimmy Ellis to me, but of course with a stronger chin. Thomas had the tools but also what I think was a lack of confidence and he got hit at LEAST as much as Bowe did.

maybe he did get hit some.

But who was missing Quarry with their punches? I sure do not love Quarry the way most do on this forum. And I think a good consistent jabber is going to be a tough night's work for Jerry. Especially since a guy like Thomas is never going to trade hooks because he didn't have one. Simple strong jab and straight right hand or occasional uppercut.

I like Thomas but do feel he gets over rated by many here .. his prime was short and nothing that special .. he was a good sized guy with a terrific , hard, Liston like jab. His best fight by far was defeating a pretty focused Witherspoon for the title .. That said , if that Thomas shows up it is a very interesting fight ... Quarry was another guy that was hit or miss and overrated as a whole by many .. If the best of both show up maybe Quarry takes a decision .. more active, more over all game .. he could fight a better version of the fight Berbick did to outpoint Thomas .. either way an interesting fight for sure .. both guys had insane chins so it goes the distance for sure ..

I recall at the time seeing Thomas get a bit of a groove with Mike. He was popping him with that big power jab and getting away from Tyson's heavy shots. It looked at the time like he found the key. Pinklon had some momentum for sure.
Mike Tyson caught him with the best combination I've ever seen a heavyweight throw, including Joe Louis.

I like Thomas by decision in a match between two very good fighters. I think the Pinky jab would be the difference. Quarry is an excellent puncher but Thomas has a chin of granite. Thomas was in good form and quite consistent from the time he got his break into the big time as a substitute for Tim Witherspoon until his out of the blue lackluster performance against Berbick. 3 1/2 decent years.

Jerry beat 8 fighters who were ranked by Ring and WBA At the time. (4 Knockouts , of those two were ranked #1) -Few Champions in any division Acheive that. During Quarry's time, Only Ali (32) and Frazier (10) Beat more top ten fighter's -in the heavyweights.

So as far as an Alltime rating Quarry wins easily.

Pinklon Thomas was more hot and cold, but at his best I think he was a little better than Quarry. I think I'd take him by UD. His jab might be the edge he needed.

Pink controls him and busts him up with his jab.
