Quarry by mid to late round stoppage. I think Morrison makes it interesting early with his size and speed, but as soon as he slows just a little bit Quarry schools him big time. To sum it up, Quarry was just a better all around fighter and naturally tougher than Morrison.

Quarry just a better fighter, though Tommy would be bigger.

Right after Mac Foster slammed Jerry with his hardest right cross, JQ slammed into overdrive, and it was over before the round was out. Joe Alexander decked him with a monstrous hook, knocking Jerry silly, only to be floored for the count before the next round was up. JQ charged right through the rights of Shavers and rallied from nowhere to stagger Lyle with a hook after Ron made him mad for having the temerity to hit him. For some reason, I see Tommy nailing Jerry with his Sunday Punch, then waking up wondering what the hell happened?

Magoo posted that he'd put money on Jerry, and so would I. Tommy wouldn't be seeking to outbox him, or win with attrition, but do what came naturally, attack and slug, just the sort of fly Jerry preferred spinning his webs for.

Morrison thumps Quarry out but it takes a little longer than it took him to put Quarry Jr on his back. I say Tommy survives a couple scary moments and eventually cracks Jerry with enough left hooks to have him out of there before 7.

    Another vote for Quarry.

No doubt he weathers a storm to take it. And might very well be busted up or swollen by the fight's end. But I do see the Morrison parachute opening in this. And his resiliency when he gets fatigued won't see him last.

It'd be a real good fight to watch. And the loser puts in a game effort and doesn't go out easy. But the loser goes before the 9th round. No way this is a decision bout and I like the Quarry edge in conditioning to take over and ultimately capitalize.

Fragile but he could really whack, too many of those hooks on Jerry's chin and it's over.

Definitely. Both men had shaky beards. And Morrison never truly made world class in my book. But Joe Frazier ripped Quarry apart with those left hooks. And while Tommy is no Frazier by any means, he threw as deadly of a left hook as anyone. Jerry also had the tendency to get decked and cut often. Quarry's best chance is to do to Tommy what he did to Shavers, but realistically how often did that happen where Jerry took a guy out that early? Some say the longer it goes the more Jerry would have the edge, but I disagree. The longer it goes, the more those left hooks are going to have a cummulative effect, and Quarry was not made to absorb loads of punishment.
