The best version of Willard vs the best Ruiz Jr? Who wins? Also, is Andy Ruiz any relation to John Ruiz?
What rules and how many rounds? If it's 45 rounds in 1915 Havana I'll take Willard If it's 12 rounds in 2019 New York I'll take Ruiz Jr.
Willard wouldn't win a decision in 12 rounds. What I am sure though is that he'd never lose so badly as Joshua. Look how Willard kept getting up and fighting back with Dempsey even though he was totally dominated. Even if Ruiz won before the end of 12th round, it wouldn't as badly looking KO and I'd rather expect refs stoppage. Willard was way tougher than Joshua.
I’d take Willard up to 1915 to beat Ruiz. However, after winning the title from 1916 and onward Willard let himself go and would take a beating against Ruiz.
Look another dumb azz thread. Jess Willard wouldn't lose to Joshua? Jess Willard got up from Dempsey knocking him down? The last time I checked Dempsey weighed 190 and Anthony Joshua was 6'5 250. Joshua with modern sized gloves would knock out Willard in 1 round. Joshua with those 4 ounce gloves would literally killed Willard. Andy Ruiz is a fat dough boy. But skill wise he is so far beyond anybody from that era that it isn't funny. Andy Ruiz would beat Jack Johnson, Jack Dempsey, Gene Tunney, Jess Willard in the same night.
