I think Calzaghe is always going to be problematic for Jones. His style is just awkward for RJJ. That said, Jones lost more speed than zaggers did by the time they met. My opinion: 50-50ish fight.

Calzaghe would always give Jones issues. Even the great Emmanuel Steward acknowledged as much during the actual fight. A fight Calzaghe won going away. Naturally bigger, aggressive, smart high volume puncher. Not easy fight for Jones.

Joe never believed that he could beat Roy in his prime.

It’s why he never pursued him earlier in his career, and why he said:

“I’d have beaten Froch. I’d have beaten any SMW in history. But maybe not Roy Jones in his prime”

Do you remember Jones dropping Joe in the first round of their fight??

Roy embarrasses him. Prime Roy is invincible.

RJJ for my money, I could even envision him stopping Joe late…but, out of respect for Joes toughness and ability I will go with a Jones decision 8-4ish maybe 9-3. I don’t see Joe beating him and I am much more of a Calzaghe fan than a Jones fan

Joe Calzaghe was brilliant but I have to make a prime Jones a heavy favorite.

Joe had a good run, but against a prime Joe the fairytale would end abruptly. He would find himself at the back of the class again with the rest of us lefties.

I think Roy knocks him out. Too much speed and history has shown the faster of two boxers will win

Has to be Roy by comfortable decision. Calzaghe was a very good fighter but Jones was one of the greats.
