I'd be very comfortable picking Joe to stop Wlad. There's the outside chance he couldn't handle Wlad's power, ala Foreman, but what the hell would Wlad do if Joe managed to get inside? It wouldn't even look fair.

LMAO @ Joe Frazier being merely a "good" heavyweight or cruiserweight. He'd destroy the top 10 cruiserweights in one week if he wanted to, so let's get that out of the way.

The guy gave Muhammad Ali, a very modern-sized heavyweight (oh, by the way, considered by most to be a top 5 fighter of all time) absolute hell. Not to mention all the other big heavyweights he destroyed.

So because he fights past his prime and gets KO'd by the greatest puncher of all time, chumps like Tyson Fury and Andrew Golota would bother him? :patsch

He's right that size is not an issue, although I don't know if I would pick Fraizer over the Klitschko brothers. Fraizer would wipe the rest of the heavyweights today besides the Klitschko brothers.

Look how wide the Klit bros stand..It's hard to avoid shots from an ATG with such a wide stance.

Now look how they both lean straight back..That's bad news all day long for a BOB n' WEAVE fighter like Smoking Joe.

Frazier would be inside before they knew it.

Joe is so much better than the guys that have already KO'd them..

Frazier could wipe the floor with every single one of todays heavy's and cruisers.

Id take both Klits over him on joke stoppages because Smokin' Joe took too many shots getting on the inside. Though if he got on the inside just once both Klits lose in that moment.

Hmmm... I could see Vitali Klitschko giving him trouble, but I think he would beat Wladimir.

Vitali wouldn't be able to time him for ****. Frazier would slip that slow arse jab and break his jaw with left hooks. Wlad probably has a better chance of beating Frazier than Vitali.

    true.
slight fav against haye , gomez , chagaev , chambers , povetkin.
    fav against ruiz .

    against ibragimov - i don't know , maybe a slight fav again.
he would have slayed maskaev and rahman for those who consider them top heavies of today.
against peter - i have a dilemma between frazier by some stoppage to .. well , i guess frazier a fav again maybe a big one.
against vitali , wladimir he'll get massacred.
valuev is a gentleman inside the ring also , so frazier sees the final bell
in another fight when valuev's team tells him he can spare his oponent's life in exchange for a settled decision win deal.

    true.
both fast and strong , frazier's chin better.
him and arreola also , there is a chance that that fatass can do what foreman did , for the ones of you that say i chat ****. but arreola is more like of the comebacking foreman (see foreman vs. qawi fight)

him and brewster will also be a good fight , a peek and conditioned brewster will lose on points / late stoppage in an interesting fight.
i forgot to mention another 2 things : peter also should not be considerred a top heavy today , along with tony thompson whom i purposely didn't even take into that fantasy.
well , maybe brewster also should not be considerred a top heavy.
but , for the one who said frazier was a cruiser , which is true , so are chambers , toney , and infact almost everyone except valuev , the klitschkos , etc.
even arreola if he wasnt so fat , could make 200 without risking his health. no way his dry weight is more than 205.
tua , by the way (i forgot) , at least in his prime , would have blown frazier's head off. today's tua might have lose a decision. no way frazier stops him. hook for hook and chin for chin just compare these :
    frazier-ali 3 or frazier-ali 2 to tua-ibeabuchi.
    foreman-frazier1,2 to tua-lewis.
just imagine tua against him a hw vs. a cruiserweight.
him vs. a prime evander will also be great , hard to choose the winner.
    will it be like holyfield-qawi2 ? holyfield-tyson1 ? or holyfield-mercer or holyfield-rahman ? maybe holyfield-qawi1.

I love all these threads with "How would some skinny guy from the 50s, 60s and 70s do against a modern HW"?

Are there similar threads on NBA or soccer forums? "How would the 2008 NBA all star team have done against the 1971 all star team"? or "How would the Italian FIFA world cup soccer team of 2008 have done against the German team of 1954"? Or tennis: "How would Roger Federer have done against Jimmy Connors of the 80s?". Wow real tough ones right there!
