Was a good thread till about 3 pages ago.

Louis probably gets the job done. He's dangerous enough early to make a dent. Rock could definitely make a run for it late, but I like Louis by close decision, if Rocky survives the first 5 rounds, or early knockout, were I a betting man.

I'd like to thank he grant for agreeing with me and paraphrasing an old opinion of mine regarding Marciano. As for Rocky against Louis prime for prime I'd have to go with Joe. Louis would be the first opponent that combined good boxing with crushing power that Marciano ever faced. Combine that with arguably the most potent jab in the history of the HW division and I can't go against Louis. One thing I noticed when Rocky fought an ancient Louis is that at one point Joe landed a flush right hand on Rocky and Rocky's knees buckled if only for an instant. If that was a prime Louis and Joe knew Rocky was hurt he would've tore into him and landed punch after punch with speed and accuracy and possibly ended it right there but Joe was too old and the speed was gone. Now I'm not saying that it would be a cakewalk for Louis but I think he takes it, most likely on a late round stoppage due to cuts. Prime Louis was something apart.
