I have Woodcock vs Mills on film. Woodcock demonstrates a titanic of a right hand all night on Mills. Woodcock looked very dangerous in this fight.

Yes, at British level, Woodcock was indeed a terror, but he failed at world class level.Baksi was his nemesis and Mill's too.

    He did beat Oma though.

That would have bumped him up the rankings.

Woodcock was briefly in the top 10 ,so was Gardner after him ,does anyone think either of them had a realistic chance of winning the title?

No but somtimes a guy can get catapulted up the rankings by beating an oponent who was a flash in the pan at the flash point.

Louis in his prime could take the Rocks shots better. He would land more as well. Rock would beatcut up and hang on to lose a UD.

I think Louis' fast and precise power punches would lead to Marciano getting stopped on his feet. 10th round.

Surprised Marciano was leading the poll here.

At the same time, I love to read more thoughts about this fight.

Louis himself said he would have always had trouble with Marciano. He did not like to be crowded but I think a fight prime for Prime would have been a war and more competitve. This fight could go to the wire but also have an explosive end. I do not underate either man. Joe Louis was my #1 Heavy but I also rate Marciano very high and he had a tough relentless style for Joe, who was the greatest Power/Combo puncher that ever lived.

can't see prime Louis beating prime Marciano.
He would probably dominate Rocky for a big chunk of the fight, until he get's caught(Walcott I style).
