I am not overly impressed with Pulev. I still can't decide if Wlad was really good in blasting him out or if Pulev is/was overrated. He's a fairly basic heavyweight with a nice jab, decently fast hands and possesses some decent movement for quite a big man. I'd say he is an above average talent but nothing to get too excited about. His movement and jab could cause some issues for Louis and if Pulev tries to keep it an outside fight Louis will need to hunt him down; usually this took a few rounds against the better movers Louis faced. I think Joe will become bolder once he realises Pulev doesn't have a cracking punch and will slowly start to apply more pressure as the rounds progress. Ultimately I feel Pulev will be happy to survive and fight another day. Louis by comfortable decision or late rounds stoppage.
^ fair assessment although I do believe Louis stops him. I like Pulev- think he has a good jab, which against Wlad he abandoned. He has size, and toughness too. Competant solid contender. Hope he fights again and just doesn't fade away.
Pulev looks a lot better than Simon Pulev was a world-class amateur fought in the Olympics.,he's been groomed. Best Tony Thompson dimitrenko and Ustinov in pros... Simon never had an amateur career he has no polish in his boxing game. He looks like he took up the sport only for a few years Pulev has much better jab, much better coordination, better right hand, faster hands, much higher ring IQ, better sense of range
besting a 40something nobody is a claim to fame for pulev, says it all. if we are talking about being amateur, pulev didn't even bother warming up for Wlad. he just sat around grinning.
Pulev was shocking against wlad poor to non-existent defence and no head movement Louis would stop him no later than the 5th
