Then your thinking is seriously misguided.

Louis was chinny, and Sanders had speed and dynamite in his left !

He was up and down like a 10 dollar ***** Joe, throughout his career. Sanders could finish what Galento Braddock Walcott couldn't. Not a beating like Schmeling or Marciano gave him, I mean a smelling salts job and a 12 month rest !

Sanders was just too damn explosive and have a ganite chin, louis defence wasnt realy good and yes, he was chinny, not a great combination agains Sanders.
Sanders lack condition, he wasnt the hardest trainer, sometimes lazy outside the ring, but in best shape, i´m 100% sure he kick louis ass in the first 3 rounds

    Preposterous logic.

Are we going to argue that Sanders would knock out anybody who suffered a flash knockdown?

Lets get to the meat of the matter, and ask who really got knocked spark out?

Sanders against Nate Tubbs for example.

That is what we should really be focusing on.

Louis went fifteen years without getting stopped, and in that period he managed 26 title defenses.

    Chinng fighters don't do that.

Louis didn't have the best chin of all time, but he was a hell of a lot more durable than Sanders.

If Louis was chinny, and he had poor defense, then how the hell was he going fifteen year without getting knocked out?

You can't have it both ways.

There has to be some reason why he wasn't getting knocked out.

Oh, and no, Sanders did not have a granite chin.

He isn't holding the power that 6ft5" 240lb Sanders brings to the table regardless. Them 15 yrs without a loss was full of bum of the months and a couple years in the army anyway.

Since when does he have a granite chin? He was savagely knocked out by one shot against Tubbs. Granite chined boxers don't get slept as brutally as he was in that fight.

Let us be entirely clear about what we are comparing here.

Joe Louis fought 31 currently ranked contenders (the bums of the month as you call them).

I think that Sanders fought 3 and he got trounced by 2 of them?

Sanders got knocked out by Nate Tubbs of all people, in the second round, and took the full count!

Joe Louis was only ever stopped after sustained beatings, fifteen year apart.

Sanders is was actually 6' 4'' with a 77" reach, and weighed 225 lbs when he was actually in condition, so he is not all that big.

He would not necessarily be the hardest puncher that Louis had fought.

We aren't comparing resumes here though J, we're comparing fighters at their best, in this case you could view Sanders against Wlad as his best night. Doesn't matter the night, but the fighters qualities on his best night. For that, there is ZERO question, Sanders would destroy James or Tony with relative ease for example. So this notion that you can say, well, James was a lineal champ, Sanders was not, thus he's better isn't sound logic in this case. If you're comparing accomplishments sure, but that isn't what we are doing here is it?

As you might have picked up from the various Douglas threads, I am very skeptical of fighters who had one standout performance.

My first instinct is to blame their opponent.
