This thread was a social experiment to see how delusional the forum was and the results were exactly as expected. Even assuming that a "heavyweight" from the 40's is more skilled than a modern heavyweight Olympic bronze medalist, skills are only part of boxing. I assume no one believes that the highly skilled Duran could beat Wilder (though maybe I'm optimistic). Realistically the much longer, faster and tougher Wilder would flatline Louis in the first round. Wilder would definitely go for the first round KO because he had the healthy belief (for a champion) that he was the best ever and resented the typical mass of boxing fans and ex-fighters who always cr*p on the modern fighter.
Neetzschean....Wilder may win. it is heavy weight boxing. Lewis did not punch like a cream puff and Wilder is not overly skilled. unfortunatley, we will never know.
This. It's not a question of whether Wilder could knock Louis out (he could) but a question of who would land first and better. In that case, Louis is much better equipped to land the first and best salvo. Wilder's lack of defence would cost him dearl;y. Louis is not the kind of guy you want to go in chin first against.
