Marciano crowding style would always be a serious problem for Louis, but prime vs prime would be a war and a war of attrition.

They voted because he was beloved champion, but in reality he was easy job for Marciano.

Problem for Marciano are slick boxers and counterpunchers but if you came at him you're in trouble.

And what happened after Chuvalo fight?
Chuvalo went dancing and Ali went into hospital pissing blood unable to even bother Chuvalo with punchers.

And Bonavena almost knocked Ali out few times, but they're like 30 percent of what prime Marciano was.

Louis was knocked down by most fighters he faced, Marciano was knocked down by top 3 atg LHWs of all time and top 15 HWs of all time and beat them both by KO.

His 1 st fight back from retirement was against Charles.
    Exhibitions are not real fights.
Louis had 69 fights ,20 more than Marciano,he not only faced more punchers he continued fights
The scorecards show neither fight was close,so your description of "life and death," is total BS.

Louis had 69 fights ,6 fighters knocked him down.
Louis not only had 20 more fights than Marciano,he fought more punchers, and was fighting at an age when Marciano was safely retired.
Marciano was knocked down by a 38 years old man, and a 41 years old man.Neither Walcott nor Moore were prime when Marciano beat them.

32 reporters were canvassed for their votes 10 voted for Louis,1 for a draw 21 for Walcott, the scorecards were.6-7,8-6,9-6.
The man closest to the action ,referee Ruby Goldstein ,gave it to Walcott by 1 round, that,by any definition is a close fight.
The score cards for the Marciano v Louis fight were as follows.

    2-4,2-5,3-4 for Marciano
Louis was doing okay until his legs went on him.
Marciano was badly marked up after the fight,it was no easy job.
