It's kind of funny too I am an American and don't give a **** about where a fighter comes from... Either I am a fan or I am not..

Lennox Lewis is my favorite HW of all time, and I was praying for Ricky Hatton to beat Mayweather.. I am a Pac fan too, I loved MAB, Morales and Naz... I like Kovalev, and Froch quite a bit too.

Of course he had a good chin. Most British people do, it doesn't mean he was any good though. Matthew Hatton had one of the best chins in boxing...

    I even like Calzaghe...

I don't care that he beat the version of Roy that he beat... It didn't prove anything that Glenn Johnson, Antonio Tarver, or Danny Green couldn't do though. Roy was not himself.. Everyone knows this.

What that it would be a butthurt Yank that would bring up Calzaghe in a thread that has nothing to do with him. :nod agreed :tired

I think it is significant that someone as tough as Woods with an iron chin, stopped coming at Roy after a few rounds...

Kovalev, GGG or Froch have not been put to that test yet, they may never.

Yeah, probably because he wasn't on PEDs.

And Joe did prove something those guys didn't- he is still, to this day, the only one to dish out a totally one sided boxing lesson to Roy.

I also love how you never acknowledge Calzaghe himself was nowhere near his prime.

There was swagger alright, but this was Jones I think at his best. Thornton fight he was good, but I thought he was just incredible in the Sosa fight, even if it was stopped to soon. I remember watching the Brannon fight I thought Jones was going to seriously hurt him.

Something was missing in the McCallum fight. He did the stare down with Sosa, basketball game before the Lucas fight and the in ring pre fight interview before the Brannon fight.

Yeah, Roy was incredible in the mid 90's.

Merqui was a tough nut. Roy says he was the toughest guy he fought. I remember him grabbing the ref.

Mike McCallum was a genius in his prime. But Roy was in a no win situation when he fought him. The fight wasn't great, but Roy said he didn't want to take any chances, and he boxed quite conservatively.

One of the best fights ever, would have been Mike at his peak, vs a younger version of Roy at MW.

Prime joe vs prime roy pffffff. Roy all day. Roys a league above. Not that joe wasnt good, but toney and roy would have smashed joe in the 90s so would mike mccallum , micheal nunn, the g man, jullian jackson they all would have smashed joe

Has Froch fought someone with the speed/power of prime Jones Jr?

    No. He has not.

Ward's the best guy he's fought.

We saw what happened, and Ward had a fractured hand.

Roy was better than Ward, was much faster, and of course had much more power.

This is one of the most easiest fights to predict.

Roy would have made him look like a complete amateur.

Then guys would be coming on here, not to praise Roy, but to question how good Froch was in the first place.

    Cool.

I've been there a few time too (Cornwall that is). It's a nice place.

I used to pretend to be an old English gentleman (a member of the aristocracy) who was a Spitfire pilot in the war and a part-time slave trader in the Congo. He was married about ten times and lost all of his wives to tornados. lol. I'd post I lost my 3rd wife to one of those bas****s on one tornado vid, and then post I lost my 5th, 6th, 9th etc. on others. And whenever someone would reply that they were sorry to hear about my loss, I'd respond with ''I also lost my 2nd, 4th wife etc. to one too'', or that I wasn't sad because I hated her guts lol. That's how I think it started. :good

    Amen.

Your last sentence is absolutely true. After a complete mismatch against Frock, some haters would say that he is a cab driver as Reggie Johnson
