This is a very interesting thread, where many posters may have overlooked what the TS is saying, or at least my take on what I think is being said.

At MW, Roy didnt face a MW as good and established as Golovkin. Dont try and say Hopkins when he wasnt established and didnt win his next title attempt. Golovkin has the better MW resume.
You could say Golovkin hasnt fought anyone like Jones at MW, but Golovkin would be the more established and experienced and with that likely the favourite.

At SMW, Jones had a couple of decent wins like Lucas and Malinga, against Toney, it was rumoured Toney was struggling with the weight and I dont think either looked impressive, contrary to what many say.
The only thing I wonder about here, is how faded Froch possibly is, at his age.
I think this fight could possibly be like Frochs fights with Groves, where Froch would be outboxed and outsped, but ultimately could come on strong and land the finishing punches.
Froch has the greater SMW resume, in my opinion.
Its a pick em for me in this one. Either Jones close on points or Froch by late KO. Froch/Groves 3 anyone?

LHW, Kovalev. I think Jones would likely get caught early and stopped early in this one.
We know Kovalev can beat movers and boxers, and has the power to stop opponents in their tracks.
Kovalev has beaten an undefeated champ and a unified champ who thrashed a fighter who KOd Jones.
I would strongly favour Kovalev in this one

If Roy had beaten Collins and Liles, along with Toney, would he have been the GOAT at SMW?

I mean, all three of them are top 10 ATGs at SMW.

OK, but if he hadn't, and Roy fought and beat him, would he?

It be up,there no question but the. Again how good of a SMW was Liles ? Roy did beat Reggie Johhnson after he beat Collins but then again that was at LHW . He 'd be up there no question.

Who did Toney beat at SMW?
Collins I agree beat undefeated Eubank and then beat him again and had 2 wins over Benn as well as never losing at the weight.
Liles may be a top 10 SMW, but he would be a high top 10 if I did have him top 10 at the weight, although I did rate Liles highly

I have to agree, Kovalev could very well stop a prime Jones. I would not be at all surprised.

Yeah yeah we know Failey you favor everyone against Roy ...Kovalev has never faced any fighter close to a prime. Jones with his hand speed or punching power ! Name the slickest guys he ever faced now multiply that items 3 with Jones ! And beating a bum in Cleverly does not equate to beating a first ballot hall of famer in a prime RJJ.
